Hi guys , I’m new on here and need your help , I snapped by rear mech on Sunday on my Kenevo (m) and had to get home by shortening my chain and peddling back single speed which was a pain. I’d luckily got a spare rear mech at home but can’t remember if the chain link length was 116 or more ( I’m also running a 34 tooth chain ring) . Great forum btw .

Doubtful it'll be 116 links (that's how many links a new chain is generally sold with unshortened)
To determine the correct chain length.
Wrap the chain around the chainring, through any chain guide and onto the largest sprocket and through the mech cage (in first gear) with the rear suspension fully bottomed out (remove air or spring and compress shock fully) to account for chain growth under suspension compression.
You basically want the mech to be pulled forwards as far as possible without the chain being too tight and the jockey wheels not doing their jobs properly.
looking something like this:

Ah... yeah. That would make sense. don't you have the old chain to measure against?
