Whyte Kado – an existing design with a new price?
Don’t get me wrong, the Kado isn’t an old bike. It’s a brand-new model from Whyte, and it comes with the latest Bosch CX motor and batteries of either 600 or 800 Wh. This is a detachable battery, which seems to be less common these days. And you...www.emtbforums.com

I was checking out the Whyte ELyte Evo RS , with the GEN 5 upgrade also , I like the idea of that more , prices dropping too , cheapest I have seen is @ mtb monster @ £5999, down from the £7250,I have not ridden any of the models but looking at the specs I saw nothing to persuade me to swop out my E160 RSX! The entry level model looks good value for someone starting out with EMTB.
Apart from the newer Bosch kit the biggest claim to fame for the Kado according to Whyte is the very low centre of balance.
Personally I am more interested in the E Lyte EVO as a more trail oriented partner to my E160 RSX.
Same......I enquired about an EVO and if no part ex and cash payment, the price came down to £6500. In the end I kept my RSX and bought a levo comp ....just for trail riding.I was checking out the Whyte ELyte Evo RS , with the GEN 5 upgrade also , I like the idea of that more , prices dropping too , cheapest I have seen is @ mtb monster @ £5999, down from the £7250,
I bought one back in April and feel exactly the same as you, amazing bike, very very happy with it.I've had the rsx now for a few weeks. Amazing bike! Handels like a dream. So good at climbing, and goes down hill like a monster. So much of a better riding experience than my Canyon Spectral on I had previously. No regrets !

That is a good price , not seen one that cheap beforeSecond hand markets booming for these too i just got a elyte evo works 2025 for £2700 with 250 miles on![]()
I think I can see you are trying to flip it on Facebook for a lot more already too? I'm not sure it's worth more than what you paid for it given the condition, low travel and competition out now but good luck with the sale.Second hand markets booming for these too i just got a elyte evo works 2025 for £2700 with 250 miles on![]()

Its much nice colour in the flesh.....Yep, got the rs. I love it. I was comparing it with a few others, amflow pl, trek rail, orbea wild, mondraker crafty, levo 4... In the end it was the balance of ride handling and quality of warranty/replacement parts that won it for me otherwise it would have been the orbea I reckon. But it's an amazing bike, only remember it's a heavy ebike when braking or manouvering it around, for all other intents and purposes whilst riding it rides amazingly. View attachment 185907
Standard concerns though, sram db8 brakes are crap, the stock rockshox deluxe select is pretty crap gets overwhelmed dead easily, the basic damper on the zeb selects is alright, but does have a tendency to show it's limits, the stock bars are super stiff depending on if that's your thing or not and the stock tyres are crap. Mine came without the standard pedals so put hope f22s on it
On mine I updated the display to kiox 400c, cushcore in the rear, hope tech 4 evo gr4 brakes with floating rotors, swapped out the air shock for a vivid ultimate, swapped the dropper lever for a OneUp v3 lever, radial magic Mary upfront sticking an Albert on the rear come winter, will be swapping the bars out too, charger 3.2 and 170mm air shaft upgrade for the zebs and then it's pretty much done, maybe a new wheelset with less rotational mass on the future but that's just getting into nice to have territory.
Tbh though don't let my comments affecr your decision as it probably depends on the kind of riding you do, steep stuff, off piste, tech and rough enduro you'll wanna make some upgrades like the ones I've done. If you're just doing trail centers or trail level rides you'll be more than fine with stock setup imo.
