Part of the attraction for me, was the slimness of the downtube and the lack of bulk round the BB area. I like an EMTB that looks more like a bicycle. You don't get that with the Bosch CX motor and battery system. The Bosch CX battery just has too much girth.it's the best bike irrelevant of the motor

Look at the new Whyte Kado compared with the Amflow or Unno Mith. The Bosch motor would have ruined both those bikes. And Cesar Rojo gave that exact reason for dumping the Bosch System.

If I thought I could discuss them without this becoming triggering for the Bosch owners, which seem to be perusing the Avinox threads, l would. But to answer your question. If I could get all the same features as the Avinox in a Bosch System. There is no reason I wouldn't get the Bosch System. But currently I don't believe I can.

Depends. There are a few segments that have hills, and I have not beat my Canyons time, because of the time made up on the steep downhill section.it'd still be a contender for you guys if it had a Bosch motor?

Note that I preferred the handling of the Amflow to the Vala, but it couldn’t hold a candle to the Shuttle.

Haven’t revisited that. spreadsheet - I’d probably rate a few things on the Amflow differently now - to make it even more of a win.Have you revisited this? Because I'd disagree with quite a few of the items on the Amflow - at least for the PL Pro. Build quality was excellent, equipment spec excellent (no need for XX1 - XO is more than adequate), it can be set to 28 MPH (at least for me) so it basically is destricted, the privacy is a non-issue if you don't put a SIM card in it. Also, having owned a Levo S-Works and a high-spec Shuttle, I think the Amflow handles far better in normal trail conditions than either of those.

TBH i think the amflows look quite bland for what they are,on the other hand,the new DJI equipped commencals are bloody lovely in the black,pretty well specced too.Just finished my test ride of the cheaper new 2026 Amflow Pl and have to say I wasn't that impressed. It was 22.5kg in XL with the standard trail tyres on and that rear Dissector is dangerous as soon as there's any mud
I currently ride a Specialized Kenevo mulleted with a 29 inch Fox Factory 38 on the front and Fox Factory X2 on the back with Enduro casing Vittoria Maza on the front and Magic Mary in Gravity casing on the back and that's just over 25kg with the 700 battery.
My fully kitted up riding weight is just under 100kg so around 3kg difference to my Kenevo which I really couldn't't notice.
The Amflow definitely had more power but that's only to the restricted speed limit and then it feels like someone has thrown the anchors onI was 100% slower on it than any normal bike would be on the flats or downs cause of the limiter so without 'moving to NZ' it would be simply be unrideable for me.
The Amflow was set up totally stock i.e. full 29 wheels but even if you swap the rear wheel to 27.5 and put a gravity tyre on and Enduro casing min on front I reckon it will still be closer to 23kg so then only about 2kg difference to my Kenevo that has burlier and heavier suspension with removable battery and i haven't tried swapping anything on that to carbon to bring the weight of that down
I only had it for 2 hours so I obviously very hard to draw any real conclusions but have to say the new Fox 36 definitely felt stiffer than the 2022 36 I have on an old bike but I would need to tweak it a lot to see if it would ever feel as good as my current 38.
Renting it for a couple of hours was an itch I wanted to scratch and has definitely given me something to think about as I actually have a deposit down on the Unno Mith that comes as standard with nothing I'd want to change and should be about 22kg in S3 size. I don't think that is a bad thing lol. Its a lot better than the Specialized and the complaints of it being an over weight pigamflows look quite bland

easy: don’t buy shit suspension and you don’t need to deal with kashimaShame that Fox doesn't really have an alternative to the gold tubing on their suspension kits. Really makes it hard to get accessories to pop without clashing on the Amflow Pro Black frame, not sure how im going to tweak mine when it arrives this week...sometimes less is more, but less is generic and bland. Personally i'm leaning toward a dark purple or Dark Green that hopefully won't offend to many here, also i don't want it to be a HEY LOOK AT ME peasant either and have a line of crack heads camping out my house waiting to shank me for their next hit

When i first paired my Pro last week somehow i accidently was in NZ and it seems the speed limit knows no bounds...and yet in no way do i feel it is to fast, its just sensibly fast when it needs to be Even in Boost mode i don't feel like i'm hitting power ban on a 2 stroke motorbike its just solid fun....I see there is an update to the App but unless someone has a great reason i see no need to update the firmware. I may update one day but last i heard location services cannot be disabled for the latest firmware so i think it's a hard pass for me atm.I recently purchased the Pro model.
For me, it is a fantastic bike for what i ride & how i ride.
The power of the motor is impressive but imo, how the motor delivers its power is more impressive.
With the bike on a stand & motor off, turning the peddle shows a lot of drag or resistance.
However, when riding the bike on level and slight up inclines and exceeding the 25 kph limit, unless i look at the speed read out i can not tell the motor has stopped assisting.
I think the power drop off has been tuned to be gradual and the transition to no power is seemingly seamless.
Overall the AMFLOW is a very well thought about bike by DJI and have executed it well with details, componentry and software that for the price, makes more expensive bikes pale in comparison.
The Ergon seat on the Pro, is rubbish. Far too hard. I changed it first thing.But am changing the grips as they feel super hard on my hands and will be looking at possibly changing the seat as well but not sure what to at the moment.
