Oops I wrote Sydney but I meant New South Wales. Don’t know how to change it. Moderators?

Wonder if an Australia sub-forum is a good idea? Works on other forums I use.

I'm from Melbourne, predominantly a skier, if my username isn't enough of a giveaway but I've got a place at Mt Buller and love going there over summer, I rented an eMTB a couple of times last summer and looking to grab one for myself in the next couple of months.

Oh I love Buller. Lucky you to have your own place.
Do you live there permanently or in Melbourne?

Sorry I didn’t pay attention, you do live in Melbourne.
Do you get out riding much? Where do you ride?
You need to buy an ebike, Buller on an ebike is insane.

I've been bike-less over the last few years due to baby and establishing a business but a mate's Merida got me hooked, like I said I rented an eBike couple of times at Buller last summer and saw it definitely was the go so I'll pull the trigger soon. I've asked All Terrain Cycles to pre-order a 2020 Levo Alu Comp so looking forward to hearing timing from them re: local release.

I used to live in WA at a place called Secret Harbour near Mandurah whilst serving in the Australian Defence Force. Now I'm back in Hampshire, UK but have fond memories of my old life down under. Still kept my Aussie citizenship, must pop back for a visit sometime soon. I'm also a Skier and snowboarder but never got to ski in Aus.

Christian - melbourne? What about the rest of us?

I'm from gippsland - half way between blores hill and mt taylor. There are lots of ebike riders around here with great support from shops in sale and bairnsdale.

Aussieskier - Buller is awesome on an emtb - all terrain was part of the group that ran the buller epic emtb ride - fantastic turn out at over 100 ebikes. I was lucky enough to go with my 14 yo daughter and we'll definitely be spending more time up there when this snow melts!

Hahaha sorry I got excited. I always forget the fact that melbourne isn’t Victoria and Sydney is not NSW. I tried to change it but it won’t let me

Oh Mt Taylor is sick! Really enjoyed that place. That flow trail was just magic!

And if you go a bit further..culquorn has lollipop track - an absolute roller coaster and perfect for an emtb....life is good ( at least it would be if the rest of victoria had melb quality coffee)

You're all lucky b4stards ! What a great place to live !

Passed through briefly almost 25 years ago and always meant to go back but never found the time.

Messed around Darwin and around there for a while then slowly headed over to Cairns and did a couple of weeks diving. Hired a britaus ? 4x4 camper and followed the coast south with a week on Fraser island. Spent a very cold night on Mount Warning to watch sun rise. Was supposed to head off from Sydney as we'd run out of time but we were having too much fun so hired another britaus and headed over the blue mountains. Had a quick ski. Went to Cooper Pedy and Alice. Didn't see @HORSPWR, but did bump into 2 guys at a petrol station there who we'd bizarrely bumped into 7 other times at various places around the world, like a pizza restaurant in Nepal - and went on to bump into them again in three other places. Go figure the "It's a small world" odds on that. Popped to Uluru and round there .. Back to Alice then Adelaide, Melbourne, the reducing number of apostles, Canberra and back to Sydney. Looking back, would have been even more interesting to have done it with an MTB !

Good idea, I'm on a Mustang forum that has an Aussie sub forum which is handy.

25 years ago I was still mining in the Northwest of WA, been here just over 20 now though.
I feel a bit lucky living here, small town (about 26k) but 4 bike shops all about 5 minutes apart and spoilt for choice, Merida, Specialised, Rocky Mountain, Sata Cruz, Scott, Giant, Pivot, Yeti, Trek and more to choose from.

I can ride out of my front gate, ride up a laneway between two houses about 50 metres away and I'm in the bush and on the trails. Last weekend saw the Redback MTB event held here. Google it and you'll see some awesome trail footage.

Based in Melbourne on the Mornington Peninsula
Mainly ride around Lysterfield and Red Hill but about to head off to Derby Tasmania for a week later this month
Very excited

I'm riding Derby in Jan 2020, hopefully the track from Derby all the way to St Helens will be completed and open (44ks), I'll have to hire a STD bike to fart around Derby but I might hire an ebike for the ride all the way to St Helens.

Sydney sider, ride mostly down Wollongong way. Ebike has meant shuttling in the Ute is a thing of the past.

I'm Sydney based but try to go down to Derby four times a year. My 'best' mate has a place down there, awesome. Derby was made for Ebikes, no need for shuttles. Can hire Trek & Levos there no problems.
Derby is my happy place.
