Levo Gen 3 Hayes A4s on 2022 turbo levo comp possible?

That does surprise me. I got the hose through the chain stays of my KSL with no trouble at all. Have you tried a lube of some description?
I've tried everything short of pulling out the sleeve (dont really want to do that!), I spoke with a bike shop who have tried similar and gave up, I'm determined to find a solution as I'm a big fan of the Dominions!

I know its a bit of an old thread, but I'm tring to fit Dominions (A4's) to my gen 2 Levo SL and theres no way the hayes hose will fit through the rear chainstay holes, could you tell me which shimano hose you used? was it the newer sm-bh90 (smaller internal dia) or th older bh59? and is there no issue at the lever end using the hayes olive/inserts as they're a bigger dia than the shimano stuff?
cheers
As per Doomanic, poss best to see if you can get it to fit first, although I do see the issue as the hose is wider than normal.

I could not source a Hayes hose at the time I needed the brake, so used a BH90 as the banjo is the same as Hayes, and used a Hayes one piece olive/bushing and insert - but, importantly, with a new Shimano compression nut.

The threaded end of the compression nut fits perfectly into the Dominion lever, but the inner diameter is narrower and a tighter fit on the hose and olive/bushing.

Shimano compression nuts will not fit on Hayes hoses, and Hayes compression nuts are too loose on Shimano hoses. But they both thread perfectly into the lever, of course.

HTH!

I've tried to feed it through but it's not happening!
Thanks for the info/advice! It's much appreciated!
I've already ordered the one piece olive/insert and the bh90 hose kit so should be good to go this weekend.

The code rs's that came on the bike are a bit of a let down, so looking forward to getting dominions on there!
Cheers!

The KSL only had Rs on it so you can imagine the difference when I fitted the Dominions.

Just as a follow up on this.
It turns out that the old set of unused Sram guide t's I've had kicking about in the garage for ages use the exact same banjo and banjo bolt as the A4 Dominions.
Now I've just got to return the needlessly ordered shimano hose!

Just thought I’d chime in on my experience with putting Hayes dominion A4 brakes on my 22’ gen 3 turbo levo. I had zero issues pushing the thicker brake hose through the internal routing from the rear of the bike to the front. I’m not sure it made too much of a difference, but I also used the park tool brake hose routing tool so someone could help me pull as I pushed. I also put some slickoleum on the first 3 or 4 inches of the brake hose to reduce friction. Smooth as butter. No issues at all.

So does that mean that the Code RS hose has the same banjo as well? Could I use the same SRAM fixing nut at the lever with a new sram olive and fitting?

I need to chime in with my experience as well. I spent two nights struggling with that Hayes rear hose and independently came up with a nearly 100% identical approach. I started with Reverb barbs and spare brake hose, then eventually went to the Park internal routing kit and Buzzy's Slick Honey. "Great minds" think alike and all that.

That said, no matter how much I tried, how much slick honey I used, or how hard I pushed and pulled (I used a jagwire needle driver tool to get a firmer grip on the hose and wrapped the park wire around a wrench to get a firmer grip on the wire) I simply could not get the Dominion A4 hose to clear the chainstay on my 22' Gen 3/S3 Turbo Levo. I even tried deflating the air shock in the hope that a different angle of the swingarm would help pass the hose. No luck. I finally gave up on the factory hose and ordered a Jagwire hose/adapter kit.

This was my experience also. I’m sure that there are some Levos with different diameter tubing, but do yourself a favor and have the Jagwire kit on hand if you’re planning on the A4s. I should have just bought Hope instead for easier install, although I do like the A.4s now that they’re on.

Leaving another reference here: Levo Gen3 MY2022 > connected the old SRAM brake hose (Code RS brakes) with the Hayes hose using an M3 threaded bar going into the larger Hayes hose, and std threaded barb going into the SRAM hose. Adapters came with a Chinese brand hose assembly kit. At first, there was no way getting the interface fed into the chainstay from the rear, larger OD Hayes hose would always catch an edge of the frame or the guide tube inside the frame. I re-did the interface to make it as seemless as possible, no spaces or steps in between. Then I was able to pull-push the assembly from rear to front without major issues, though it was a sturdy pull. However, just after exiting the cable passthrough in the front, my interface barb snapped out of the Hayes hose. LUCKY ME, shoudn't have happened any earlier. Like this, I was able to pull on the Hayes hose end itself, pulling the rest in.

Side comment: I used some SRAM DOT butter on the outside of the Hayes hose (first 5 inches) to reduce friction. Not sure how much it helped, though.

I'd say, generally it IS possible to mount the Hayes brake hose into Levo 3 frames, but there are some catches..

Which olives did you use with the Hayes-Kit? The Kit has the SRAM olive with the thread but it looks different from the Hayes olives but the hose of the jagwire kit is thinner so I'm unsure what I should use...

I used the olives from the Hayes kit (each brake came with one extra needle+olive), no mix with Jagwire. Had the complete Jagwire set around as an emergency backup, though. Glad I didn't need it in the end.

Yeah, I bought two front brakes with short hoses as there was a deal only on them so I figured I might get the jagwire kit anyway at the same cost of buying a rear brake to avoid the hassle of a hose that might not fit.

Well looks like the jagwire olive doesn't seal properly. Any ideas which olive I could try for the jagwire hose?

The original Hayes olives are designed for a bigger hose orifice and a thicker outer hose. But they might fit the lever bore better.

I can't remember which olives I used when I did the install, but I am using the Jagwire hose kit and haven't had any leaking.
