Are these crazy lead times for 9.8/MX/LX builds? I see the odd 8 on shop floors, but how about 9.7's?

Sorry no updated bike pics or whatever. Just some helmet cam riding vids, doesn't really show the bike though haha

Ces délais de livraison pour les modèles 9.8/MX/LX sont-ils vraiment aussi longs ? J'en vois quelques-uns en stock, mais qu'en est-il des 9.7

In France , the black 9.7 is out of stock in Large and Xlarge , it will be available in the other colour in 3 weeks

I've been looking at the LX, and if I ordered now, expected delivery is Sept 3rd. So that's 3-1/2 months. As I look at it it seems to get longer and longer.

I called Trek today to ask what happens if I ordered and spec changed in that time and they stated that these are all built to order and as long as it hasn't gone to fulfillment, then I could still cancel and the 30 day return still comes into place if ordered online or through a Trek store. I had them check current US store inventory and apparently there are no LX 9.9 in size large in the country (at least in the black).

What is holding me back, beyond it being over $11k for the 9.9 build, is that I'm hoping TQ will announce a more powerful motor that slots into this frame over the summer (similar to how the Slash+ got a quiet upgrade from the 50 to the 60) and that it still has 2026 components when all the 2027 shocks and forks from Fox and Rockshox are now available. If you are spending that much you want the latest and greatest....
Ik don't see TQ releaseingen a more powerfull motor. The hpc 60 is not even a year old. And a Big upgrade already compared to the old one.

but if Trek present it in summer and you have to wait 3 month to have it , you will not ride this summer.
Very true. I’m okay though. I would not be able to use it this summer anyway. The bike is total overkill for my local trails (I have my Lauf for that) and this summer I’m stuck to home as I’m caring for my wife who has a 6-month recovery from some major surgery she had. So my traveling days won’t happen til Fall at earliest this year.

Still it’s annoying on the lead time and not knowing if there will be an upgrade this year or not.

the owners could give photo of their trek fuel+ for waiting ? thanks
Here's mine. Love it!

Regarding the delivery delays, maybe they simply didn’t anticipate how successful the bike would be. After the huge industry crisis with brands massively overstocking bikes, they’re probably being much more cautious with production volumes now.

The Norco Sight VLT with the TQ motor also seemed to go out of stock very quickly, although they eventually produced new batches.

I honestly don’t think it has anything to do with a new motor coming from TQ. It’s more likely just brands being very careful with stock management.

That green looks more silvery than I would have thought. It looks nice, though that color is out of stock in size large currently.

I'm currently debating on getting an LX (3-4 month delivery window so mid Sept) or seeing what Orbea comes out with for their new Avinox based Wild in mid June (with who knows what eta?). Based on lead times, by the time I'm ready to buy again, this'll probably be a 2027 bike at that point.

Still haven’t changed my view on this bike, the TQ system & its versatility. Happy to rate it as one of the top 5 bikes I’ve ridden (motor or not).

Running it in stock EX mode as I have a FF long travel bike as well, although I’m curious to put a 65mm stroke shock on it as I plan to use it in the Alps this summer, as I refuse to buy a pedal bike for that & fear for my longevity on a Tallboy 😆

In its lightweight trail setup…

Mx + spring is the best combo
The Jade X coil shock can go from 60mm to 65mm stroke by simply swapping the coil lower collar, and I have a 170 Zeb with smashpot coil conversion on my Trek Rail which I can use on the Fuel+. So it's very easy to transform the bike for riding rowdier terrain.

I will have my mx with 65 MM stroke on the vivid coil and the zeb smashpot in 170 too.
Perhaps I will test in 180mm even if Trek say not much than 170

I looked at a large 9.7 on the floor in Henderson, NV last week. It was interesting. They did not seem to want to talk to me about it since I mentioned that I wasn't ready to buy until the end of the year. Good looking bike though!

I got one, though I posted about it in a new post as this thread’s title stating (EXE) made me think of the last gen Fuel+.

Anyway my first ride impressions.

have you try it in some jumps?

Salut tout le monde
Could someone confirm that, on the 9.8 or 9.9 modele , you dont have to keep your finger 3s on the buton to switch between mode Eco and mode Off? I ve heard that now, just a simple click ( like to up or down the mode) allows you to switch between this 2 modes

I have the 9.8 MX with colour screen and I have to hold the button for 3s to switch from Eco to Off.

J'ai le MX 9.8 avec écran couleur et je dois maintenir le bouton enfoncé pendant 3 secondes pour passer du mode Eco au mode Arrêt.

My Trek Fuel+ display is the colour model but it's not quite the same as the one in this video. I don't know if Trek has customised the TQ display or if maybe mine (or the one in the video) has an updated version.

On the display in the video there are two sets of bars on each side of the display which light up in vertical segments as you move through the power modes. In mine, instead, there is a single horizontal bar at the bottom of the display which lights up in segments from left to right and also changes colour from green, yellow, to blue. I'm guessing that these subtle differences might also include the 3s delay when switching from Eco to Off. It took me a while to figure it out (yes I actually had to read the user guide!) but actually it's really not a big deal so I'm not sure why it matters to you.
