Having just read the 17 pages of Rob's build of the Chinese carbon frame and watched the videoI think I wll be heading down the same route. Was considering a Frey but the current 6 months delievery time doesnt work for me.

Im just trying to pull together a list of what I need but need to pull back the spec little on what components I can buy. The fact Im not all that good a rider means less spec wont hurt me either ;) Having said that Im all ears as to how you would spend $1000 or less on a 160-170 fork and matching shock/coil. Was thinking Lyril RC but open to all and any suggestions. Cheers!

Get a RS Yari RC, and a Super deluxe. Yari is the the same chassis as lyric but more basic internals, however it can be upgraded later if you want to a Lyric spec.

You should be able to pick one up cheap, and its pretty common to find them second hand, but unused as people often are them off a new bike when swapping out the fork.
