Forbidden Druid - Avinox Powered

Can't you just grab a pedal while in the shop and jiggle the crank arm back and forth to tell if the rattle is from the motor?

It’s a 160 but I’ve thought about getting a 170 airspring for it, just wanted to try the stock travel settings/geo and see how that got on. Podium feels really good and stuck to the crown, need to fiddle with the settings some more but was hard to focus on that vs the frame itself and especially how distracting the clacking was on the bike, I hope it’s not the motor itself as I would definitely try to have this thing warrantied if I can’t fix the issue adding foam in the frame and under the screen
Turning off the freehub engagement in advanced settings helps reduce some of the clacking.

Just visited my LBS…

Good news: for those in the US, a shipment landed yesterday.

Bad news: the Mango Mussolini regime has shut down the government, so who knows how long till customs is functioning again.

They had a Lite S2 build 3 in stock in case anyone is looking. Just standing next to it, it actually does feel like it could fit me, I am just over 5' 10.5"/179cm. But I'm sticking with the S3.

Also, the "Lite" wasn't light at around 48lbs/21.77kg.

That’s just 2lbs more than the build .. not too bad. Can easily drop weight at the wheels

When? Has to be called the nought-e.
Forbidden will be dropping some interesting powered and non-powered rigs in 26 — one will even be non high-pivot. Didn’t ask for specific dates. But you’ll see on their site the Druid, Dreadnought and Supernought are all discounted…

Any changes to the druid v2 or is it new colorways? I was debating about getting a blue monday frame.

I didn’t press too much for specifics, but if I was betting, it would be the Druid 3 adopts the geo and layout of the e version.

Absolutely loving my bike. Got it the day we left for Utah. So, only had time to throw on some bars, grips and saddle. Did drive through rain for 5 hours with it on the rack. But no issues with the controllers. The bike hangs on the rack, so maybe that helped. Rode Slickrocck in Moab and was amazed at how well it climbs when just leaving it in auto. Heading out to Gooseberry Mesa in a few. Should be an epic day.

Appreciate the insight. I did find it odd that the new colorways are already on sale.

I have a v2 in spruce almighty but its pretty chewed up. I was going to take advantage of the sale but Ill wait to see what 2026 brings.

I want to get back to gooseberry on this bike. So good! Hitting grafton?

Another note - I added about 10psi to my rear sd yesterday (35% to about 33% sag )and it made a noticeable difference. Suspension seems to “work better”, but it also had less of a “in the bike feeling” . Something to try for sure

Oh, for those whining about not having enough travel, the e-naught is coming…
You sure about that? I mean, not sure if I want to wait til spring or even more to have an ebike again and I dont believe I need even more power in the motor than in the avinox.. I did not even use most of the 85nm on my old giant reign e+..
While the druid does offer 160/150 already, I can only guess that the e dread probably has 180 in the front. which I personally would not need really.. Might as well slap a 170 fork on the edruid and call it a day...
Would find it sad if they discontinued the druid/dreadnought branding.. Steering my old 21 dread warhorse down the chunk is still to this day a lot of fun :D Name and definition of it fits so well...

I can see the appeal for more travel having played that game multiple times (180/180 Kenevo , 170/160ish Levo sl, 170/170 KSL) , but this “little bike” is just doing everything I want it right now . Sure.. I get some more feedback on the gnarly trails I ride, but with the geo and higher stack I am actually faster. For the majority of trails , it’s just more fun too. The going the core route with 160/150, will be probably all I need even for the occasional park day

An e-naught will probably be a lot longer plus the travel , which is more of the limiter if you aren’t fully invested in winch and plummet trails IMO

Agreed. I added about 10 psi from my quick initial set up and it felt a lot better. I was going through most of my travel on smaller stuff. Gooseberry was awesome. We also rode some fast flowy stuff in Cedar City. No Grafton this time out. We just got to ride today since Redbull Rampage was pushed back a day for the ladies and men's.

First ride done! that bike is totally insane!!! the best ride in my life!
Lot of upgrades is coming but to be onest is already perfect!

Nice ride! I am really excited too with the bikes performance. Much more capable than my Orbea Rallon with 167mil in the rear. Amazing.
I see that you upgraded the wheelbarrow to the FSA. Is this carbon? I am curious about the performance since you can get them at a decent price point as a mullet set.

Fsa i 29 carbon. 380 euro to RCZ shop.
For that price ther're no rivals in the market.
Waiting Garbaruk 2.0 cassette to fit the rear wheel too. They came with torque caps, tape, valves and all the stuff you need. First ride with front wheel was absolutely good.

I had hoped.
The dreadnought v2 is the best acoustic bike I've had, and I buy/try at least 6 enduro bikes per year.
Loved the D2 mostly due to the geometry. On the large, a 470mm chainstay in mullet configuration equates to unparalleled cornering traction while maintaining agility.
I'm also convinced that the advent of chain isolation devices like the o-chain and sidekick have rendered high pivots much less desirable.
The drivetrain drag and a rear end that lengthens dramatically in corners aren't desirable characteristics. And the "calm/plush" suspension feeling of a high pivot can be achieved with a chain isolation device on most well designed low/mid pivots now.

I'm currently on a 2025 crafty xr for an e bike, and have been blown away by how well the factory 150mm of rear travel has been working for me on 90% of trails. So I can see people being perfectly happy with the druid e in the long term.
But the dream is enough rear travel to make a dual crown a viable option.
Western canada riding, so "winch and plummet" is typical usage.

Hopefully a 2026 dreadnought-e doesn't have a delivery date of first quarter 2028.
