Argg. Sram brakes. Since rebleed mine have been the best brakes I have ever used. Now to see the reliability. Here's hoping

Found a good deal on a SDU on pinkbike. It came off a SC 5010 and cost me $300 total including the forbidden tune and eyelet bearing thingy. Once i get in a few rides on the bike in the core configuration i'm going to try the 'lite' SDU with a F36 or lyrik up front to see what I like more.

Funny I may try the “core” side with a mezzer and trying a 150mm shock in the back if I feel like I “need” it.

Well I had thought that a goil would be a good idea so that was my plan pre purchase but after riding I can't think of any changes other than tyres that I would want to make. This thing holds speed so well and I am always feeling in total control. Famous last words I know haha.

What are you coming from bike-wise ?

Acoustic is zerode Taniwha and ebike is a connodale moterra with a 200 mm boxxer up front and 185 rear. It's been a great bike but the forbidden eats it alive

Hi
I have had my Lite since late August, I absolutely love the bike and I had the Amflow pro before this and SC Vala before that and Bullit prior ….
The bike rides amazing I’m in the uk and ride a my local bike park and have taken it to wales for some natural mountain rides and it can do it all

The only issue I have had is the upper pulley bearings have failed ….. I noticed yesterday after riding it would make a nasty creaking noise when using the top 3 biggest cogs on the cassette when I’m pushing hard on climbs , at first I thought it was the gears not indexing correctly as it’s a similar sound but after inspection it’s the idler bearings , they use a solid lube type with removable seals (they don’t seem like a great idea to me )
Anyway I’ve only washed the bike 3 times using Muc Off , and I’ve been careful
Not to be over direct with the hose but I’ve cleaned all my bikes the same way over the last 4 years and never had an issue with anything after doing so , so I’m hoping I possibly just has a bad set from the start as thinking back it’s always made that sound when I’m climbing hard steep stuff which isn’t all that often so I just assumed it was the gears settling in …..

Man you sure do go through some bikes. An amflow and a Vala already. You are definitely in a good place to do some comparisons. Thanks for the heads up on the idler pulley I will keep a close eye on that. So far mine is silent. As is the entire bike.

Thanks for feedback v useful, guess there is a lot of power moving through that pulley, what magic did you weave to get one in august?! I was meant to be on first drop in uk and am still waiting..

Seems to be size dependant on who got theirs first

Currently tossing this up against the Bullit/Vala (mostly Bullit, and technically the Core) so I'd love to hear your thoughts in comparison to both of those.

That's a concerning failure to have so soon.

Looking at the failed bearing’s solid lube compared with the ones that okay it looks like it’s contaminated, I would think it’s been like that from the start…. New bearing and I’ll keep my eye on it hopefully it’s was a one of

I bought the Dreadnought V1 when it just came out. The bearing they used initially on the idler wore really fast as well together with the aluminum material of the sprocket so they changed that on the following stainless steel idler to said solid lube one, which is on the DruidV2 as well but in a slighty different size and only one of them. There seems to be quite some stress on the pulley bearing even on the non ebike version.. Wont be better on an ebike with 120nm of torque and 1000watt :D

The lite shreds. MTF after a few rides but very happy with the bike on my first ride.
Does your motor rattle? mine unfortunately does but still extremely happy with the bike. I was giggling and laughing all the way down the trail and back up! I'm sold on the high stack it definitely helps with the steeps so much. When i first saw the geo i thought the reach would be way too short for me but Forbidden knows what they are doing. This bike is my first HP I never felt any kind of weirdness in turns or braking it just worked so well so smooth that the zeb charger 3.1 cannot keep up. I'm going to swap over to my mrp lift damper.

Also beware of the low bb I had a nasty pedal strike flying up the fire road and it scared the shit out of me.

For those with their bikes, how are the High Rollers working out for you? I ask because I've always run the DHR's both front and back on all my other bikes. They've always worked for me. I probably won't change out in the initial instance, but will see how they feel.

Agree with giving your brain time to adjust to the low bb.

I gave the hr two solid rides to try to adjust to them. I found them ok but switched back to my Magic Mary and for me at least that is a superior tyre. I will be sticking with the mm. Will probably keep the rear tyre until it wears out

It might but I honestly wasn’t paying too much attention.

Interesting, just looked up the Schwalbe range in the radials. Would you run the Albert on the back? I like the review regarding traction. Mind you the Schredda's look nasty as... probably way too much tyre for my needs even though theoretically e-bike specific.

Tbh my favourite rear tyre is the Michelin ewild. I would be tempted to go with that again. If I went schalbe then I think j would opt for the Albert purely because I think it would roll faster. Shredder is much more tyre than I would need in Rotorua 99.9 % of the time

I had the shop swap the dhr2 for a gravity Albert radial. Been running them on my other bike and love them. Probably will go full Albert at some point but giving the assegai a fair shake for now
