👋 3 months waiting here. Yesterday my lbs call me, the bike will arrive next Monday. After customs clearing sometime next week I’ll have it.
April 16th for me and paid the deposit May 7th. Allegedly, mine landed stateside during the shutdown and it should be coming.

But… I had a scary crash + arm fracture last week. I’ve debated retiring from riding (another thread for that) or cancelling my order at this point. I won’t be riding again till the new year and I wonder if I should wait for the M2 or whatever comes along since e-bikes advance at such a rapid clip.

I wouldn’t wait, neither cancel the order. Have the bike, put it in your living room and stare at it every day until you recover. Take some pictures, upgrade stuff.

Came off my bike in '09, fractured C3, was a quad for two days, had C3 and C4 fused. Paraplegic for a week, legs and right arm came back, had to learn to walk again. Left arm took a month to start moving. Five months rehab, back on the bike 9 months later. The mate I was riding with on the day died on the same track 4 years later... it's a simple bush hiking track we would ride relentlessly. Just simple accidents.
I still ride twice a week, no more hucking but good old XC fun with small controlled drops.
Don't give it away if you love it...just dial it back and I promise it'll still be a blast!
Good luck with your rehabilitation. 👍

Yes this sport we love can be cruel. Great comeback bro. Ultimately the benefits outweigh the risks and sure we will all spend some time healing but getting good at that is important in so many ways. Ride on

Turns out you can almost slam a 240 one up in an S4, I could probably of forced it a bit further but it's actually the ideal height now as is and should get the saddle out the way a bit more now.

Also, regarding the big stack and higher rise bar. The grips are barely 10mm higher than my Claymore so definitely gonna fire a bigger riser bar on the Druid

Has anyone tried to overstroke the rear shock to bump the travel up slightly into the 160mm range?
How? The only way this could be done is with a 216x63 shock and offset bushings, which would have some obvious potential downsides.

Metric: 210x50mm, 210 x52.5(with 2.5 mm spacer), 210x55mm, 210x60(custom), 210x65(custom)

anyone having issues with the dropper post already? I’ve done about 6 rides on the Druid and the dropper post lever is already super hard to actuate. Post isn’t full slammed either. It’s a trans x one, was gonna try get a winter out of it then thrown on a reverb AXS

Yes I put a 40 mm riser on my s2 and that is perfect for me. Also shortened the stem by 5mm

do you people ever read other comments? of course you can, with a custom lengthed shock by a tuner
Yeah sure, go ahead and get a “custom” made shock for a bike not designed to be overstocked and zero proof it’ll even work. Good job promoting that…..lol
How much will that cost and potentially not even work?

When I did the bike intro with Forbidden they were admit to not even bump up the fork travel to 170mm.

i didn’t say you can do that ON THIS bike, but you could do it on an orbea rise. you said it’s not possible to do that on a shock with 210x55 lenght, that’s simply not true. one could now try to cycle through the the travel of the forbidden without air in the shock and measure the distance between the tire and the seatpost at full travel. if there is still a lot of space it COULD be possible. that’s how you find out things…

oh and btw, you can up the front travel to 175mm (with travelizer spring) when using an intend fork, same axle to crown length than a zeb at 170

Sorry, I should have said you can’t buy an off the shelf solution so why would you want too. If someone wants to roll the dice with a custom shock, giver. But don’t be shocked with the shock doesn’t work….lol

Wouldn't doing all this make the BB extremely low to the ground at bottom out on a bike that already has a low BB? I get the whole tinkering with stuff but at this point why not just get the crestline rs181 or the Velduro if more travel is needed?

i suggest to work for mid travel not more travel.

pedal strike, chainring strike is all about mid travel.

Suspension is super freemove and amazing but vivid in my opinion dont have the coil feel ( mid travel support ) RS says.

I'll love a graph comparison between vivid air and another Hight level coil both at 30% sag.

Forbidden’s designer Ollie Blight said in a video that a 170 fork was ok.

As far as I heard the electric Dreadnought counterpart is supposed to come in a burly version only with 180/170 front/rear which definitely is too much for my liking. But for all the hardcore shredders it might be the tool to work with. I find the druid with 170/150 to still be balanced enough. Geometry is aggressiv with around 63.5 headtube angle and 150mm in the rear is enough for me at least.

I know what Ollie said, but I’m telling you when I sat in on the presentation and asked them about it, they said they don’t recommend doing it. People are free to do what they want of course, but I’m just telling you what I was told when I had the presentation about the bikes before they were released.

The M2 dreadnaught will be out in 2026 if you feel you're being held back.
I can almost gurantee that the Druid is more than enough bike for 99% of riders

Only need to see the stuff that Ollie and Brian rode on both the Lite and Core models.

But I guess more travel makes it easier for the less skilled.

Id maybe stick a 170mm air spring in my Zebs mind you 😂

Tuning in at 26% sag seems to give the mid stroke support that suits me best. Probably with my set up not quite as supple off the top but it's a small compromise I can live with. Also running the Zeb with a 170 airshaft. Still playing around with settings on that.
