I thought I read somewhere that the M2S has more sound deadening.
Rob’s vid showcases this, but I want to know more actual differences in riding when not utilizing full boost and if there’s any major advantages of m2s vs m2

Interesting video. Also interesting that Atherton jumped on board early with that custom battery option, whilst it appears Forbidden have stuck with the older style batteries and hence a larger squarer down tube... At least it sounds like the new batteries will be backward compatible.

What will be fascinating moving foward is how Avinox/DJI begin to integrate their tech into this ecosystem... not dissimilar to what Apple have done. In one of the screen shots there were a lot flow charts and I noted on one side there was DJI... they are talking wiring in the dropper seat post as a next possiblity. You can pair your DJI camera to the bike and my gut feeling is it won't be too long before you will also pair a "follow me" drone with the bike.

Looks great, can't wait to get mine. My OCD is kicking in hard though, that dropper post cable really needs to be shortened....lol
I have my Fox wireless dropper post going on my bike and I'm swapping that stock brakes for my Trickstuff Maxima's.

Even though I'm not using the stock dropper, it kind of annoys me a little that Forbidden cheaped out on the dropper post on the tier 2 build, IMO it should have the same OneUp dropper that the tier one comes with. I can't imagine it made that big of a deal to the bottle line on the profit scale if it had a OneUp.

Trying to get a T2 600WH S2 but at the moment in France I only find it with 800WH battery
Man, these bikes chew up the battery so fast. I'd rather pay the small weight penalty and have the 800wh. At least you have the option of doing bigger rides. Or using turbo mode a little more often for fun.

When I placed out booking for this years bikes I only ordered 800wh battery's, I still have a 2025 DruidE on the floor that I could have sold more that four different times in the last two months if it had the 800wh battery instead of the 600wh.

AT the moment I have Canyon Strive-on with bosch CX and 600WH battery. I never use more than 2/3 of the battery in the last 3 years. I really don't like long rides. except when I go to Alps bike park where I ride full day but then I go up with gondola. I really don't like the climbing part in this sport. It's so boring.

I have a Pseudo bike park next to my house where I ride for about 1 Hour long 3 or 4 times a week in Boost mode only. This take a bit more than half of my 600WH battery

So I don't see why I should carry useless weight. I don't even take a bottle of water with me because for one hour ride it's useless weight.

Fair enough, but it’s only 2lbs, it’s not like it’s a 5lb difference. For reference the difference between a Fox coil DHX2 and air Float X2 is 1lb. So it’s not really going to be a noticeable difference between the two battery sizes.

I can’t speak about the newest Avinox motors just yet. But my 2025 Wild with the 100nm update was way more battery efficient compared to my 2025 Druid. I could get the same range riding in Turbo on the Wild that I basically get on the DruidE in trail.

Sound normale efficiency is proportional to the POWER you use.

agree with what you said about weight but weight effect is very different as to where it seat on the bike.
That is why I never ride with bottle of water on front tube and don't want too big battery because I think weight on the front tube is not a good thing. heavier front end.

I like to buy only what I'm going to use. I'm not one of those guy's that buy a 500Hp 4X4 to drive at speed limit and the most radical off road that will do is to pass a speed bump at 5KM/H because they are afraid to damage the suspension of their 4X4

Can you expand a bit on that Rob ?
Is it mainly a traction thing ? Or power mainly ? Noise perhaps ?

I'm looking at one of the m2 bikes for my wife...
Both really. M2S is super quiet on the downhills. And uphill is still quite noticeable with the extra power - especially with a 700wh battery and the full watts. Even though at the moment on the 800wh battery, all of that power isn’t accessible- but who knows what might be possible if they update the 800wh batteries to something better that would be the same form factor?

M2 is really good. M2S is just a bit better. For you yourself the M2S might be the best one, but for someone else that’s not so in tune with biking, the M2 is still an excellent motor.

Know that this was direct to Rob, but I tested the M2S and M2 back to back in that order at Sea Otter. My quick take:
  1. The M2 had noticeable rattle, perhaps exaggerated by pure silence of the M2S prior.
  2. Not just more power, but a smoother power response and pedal feel with M2S.
  3. Having M2 bike and M2S in the same garage is going to draw too much contrast, even if for different riders.
  4. An M2 all by itself or in a quiver of different motor brands will assuredly shine.

Yeah, I'm ripping that manual dropper out and replacing it with the Rockshox Reverb ASX... can't justify the extra expense for the Fox.🤯

Is their any review/test of this bike?
Only find the one from Pink bike that says almost nothing.
Maybe some could test this bike at Sea Otter

My dread-e is coming with an 800, I would trade you for that 600 battery if it's new.

Well, let me know when you get your bike and if I still have the Druid Lite on my floor with that 600wh battery we can work something out. And yes it's brand new with zero rides on the bike, I think we put a charge cycle into the battery when we got the bike.

The first gen lower spec Druids were showing up with oneup dropper instead of the TranX thing they were meant to

TranzX dropper is fine. I have a OneUp v3 laying around that I feel no need to swap in. It's easier to travel change than a OneUp. The same travel change method is very similar to a PNW — assuming they're made in the same factory.

Hey Dave,
I'm wondering about S2 vs S3 Size .
Can you share your preferred Reach stats on other bikes? Also your height and inseam?

I'm 5'10" and right in between most bike M/L sizes. I prefer a reach of 458-465 which would be a S3 DreadE but with a 1298 wheel base, I'm afraid it might be unwieldy in tight tech here in North Vancouver.

Any pics with you on it :) for sizing..
Thanks for your help

not directed at me but i might add some advice, Im 6,2ft i ride large mtbs. Im on top of large and bottom of XL i prefer a smaller bike. My preferred reach is 480-490mm, i got a S3/large druid (normal) reach is 480mm, and a S3 corE reach 467mm.

The S3 feels same size as my other bike and rides like a long large it feels like 480+ on way down. I'd say size down as the reach on the druid E's doesnt match how they feel. Bicycle witch craft! 🧙‍♂️

Forbidden doesn't appear to share a chainstay length spec. Am I missing something?

Also, doesn't that leverage ratio look a bit aggressive; especially for an air shock?

They focus more on the Ratio between RC and FC and I would probably use that RC more so than chainstay. during compression, max extension of RC is about 18mm at around 120mm of compression then shortens again.

This section of the video might help explain why the reach figures are about a size smaller than your current crop of your bikes. , so if you are normally a medium, i would stick with S2.

27% progression on a 170mm travel bike would be fine with a large volume air shock and no volume reducers. The truth is that coil shocks are really tough to get just right, so I understand why manufacturers rarely provide them as the spring rate would likely always be off.

I'm stoked that my Wild has a 39% rate of progression, it's very ideal with a coil shock.

I’m 1/2” taller and went s3 and would go s2 if doing it again (eDruid, not nought-e). 100% recommend ride both around the block at the very least. It’s great for steep and straight stuff, but more cumbersome in tight and twisty.

Thanks - The problem is there will be none available to ride around - For the first batch at my LBS they are getting in an S3 but I need put a deposit and order it asap or wait and hope the July batch will have more sizes.

Judging by what everyone is saying I’d probably need the S1, apparently no shop in the UK got any in that size🤣😂 sucks being short!
