Forbidden DreadNought E

Initially I was looking at all the Tiers on my phone. Now that I've seen them on the big screen at work, you know, they look alright. Will be interesting to see what they look like IRL... I'm still excited.

Now to see what lands first and when here Downunder.... this better not blow out to a Christmas thing again like the eDruid, 'cause I'm gunna get worked up!
From what I've gathered from a bunch of dealers, the top two tiers are limited availability (like if you don't have money on one right now, you won't get one from the first batch ), are arriving at forbidden on apr 29, and shipping out soon after.
Next batch is the tier 3-4 due in july-august. Not sure if there are anymore tier 1-2's coming with that batch, didn't really sound like it, but I didn't ask specifically either.

i asked for a T1 S2 with dealer in UK today. They said they'd ask Forbidden if there is anything but they have nothing allotted to them. Not holding my breath. I've stuck my name and money against the T2 S2 as they are getting one of those but not until Sept... Suspect if there are any T1 S2's 'floating' about the UK they probably going to shift them. Seems like only Tweed Valley Bikes in Inners has any T1's? They have 2, S2 & S3 coming end of the month if people are interested? I'm on cyclescheme with my shop so locked in.

Try CycleHighlands they are a good sized Forbidden dealer , I got my Druid though them quicker than Tweed Valley could get me one.

Still took near enough 6 months though. Hope forbidden have that sorted for these

Thanks for the heads up but I'm locked in with my shop now I've redeemed my cyclescheme voucher with them. I was getting the Druid but those colours put me right off, switched to the Dread. Great guys so happy to stay with them even if it means waiting.

I was only pointing out that TVB actually have 2 x T1's in stock if someone was after either S2 or S3.

Might have to hold off joining....until I get my greasy mitts on the Dreadie. The Core fell through last year due to delayed delivery issues. Hoping I get in on the first batch! :p:LOL:

Otherwise I end up joining all these bike specific groups on the premise I'll get one but don't!!

From my LBS here Downunder; "Taking pre orders now for limited deliveries in June, July and August!"

Didn't indicate Tiers and sizing, however in conversation, they thought a limited number of T1/T2's would come in first, with more of the S3 sizes. And all this is predicated on who Forbidden prioritises first.

Going on the eDruids last year, Oz was the last major market to be filled. NZ got their bikes in August, Oz only started mid to late December. I guess they figure we are now heading into winter and don't ride!! I reckon I ride more in winter than I do in summer when it's stinking hot and half the parks are shut due to extreme fire danger ratings!

I guess it will be a wait and see game.

Nz already have theirs. Mate is on his t1 in the redwoods for his 2nd day of riding it and he loving it. I think NZ often gets stuff first. It qas the same back in the day with MX bikes. The belief is that it's a good testing ground.
If they were available when I bought my Druid I would have for sure got a Dreadnought but after 6 mouths on the Druid I am now not so sure which way I would go. The thing is so capable yet so nimble

I ordered my Druid Core 1 last year as soon as they announced it, and I received it in the first week of October. I was only able to ride it three times, totaling 80 km. We are starting our summer riding season in a couple of weeks, but my bike is already outdated (with the M1 motor) lol. I always keep two bikes just in case something goes wrong; I don't want to miss riding since our season is short (May to mid-October). I sold my S-works to get the dread E. My LBS is only getting a limited number of bikes (10, including Druid) and only one T1, which is mine. I was told mine will arrive in two weeks 🤞.

Yes, it's outdated. Now you only have the third most powerful motor behind the M2S and M2....lol Still more powerful than anything else on the market though.

Somehow managed to snag myself an S3 Tier 2 frame, which should be here next week.

We’re keeping the Druid & this will replace a Mith which is sitting dormant in the garage. Just got to go through the fun of a build for it (Rockshox based).

You managed to get just the frame ?

I lucked into a T2 S2 bike on Monday and I’m awaiting delivery—it is enroute via FedEx right now. It’s shipping from Southern California.

Very excited. It’ll be my first Forbidden bike…coming from a 2019 Turbo Levo S-Works.

A druid ? Or a dreadnought ?
I was under the impression that they weren't due here in north america until the end of the month.

Stock pic of the build and color...

I bought mine online from Worldwide Cyclery, and they've been terrific.

It was the ONE bike they had in the system that wasn't pre-sold, and it was my exact size and build...so yeah, I feel really lucky.

It did sound like they just received them though...so I think it's great that Forbidden is beating their promised dates.

We will see about that!!!:sneaky:

An interesting read on the emergence of the Chinese bike industry and how it's impacting our mtbing world.

My take away... if my Dreadie pre-order goes north, I'm going to have options. The Teewing Flux springs immediately to mind.

I'm now hearing rumours that Amflow are priming for a big hitter bike release somewhere end of year (and high b pivot keeps coming up in that convo).

So if the Dreadie looks like it's going to get delayed to end of year or new year here Downunder... I'm outa here!

If you don't want to wait for the Naught E (pronounced "naughty" by the Forbidden guys), take a look at the Yeti LTe and the Pivot LT/AMP'd.

I do think the Avinox motor is the future of the industry... nothing currently can compete on weight, output power, or noise level, or software integration as a complete package. I think for the next two years, if a manufacturer doesn't have an Avinox offering, it's out of the sales race.

I can't see the pivot being a suitable alternative. The geo and suspension is aimed at another demographic entirely.
I think the lte would be pretty amazing with a slightly more aggressive geo, the avinox form factor, and with a 600wh battery.
