What size ?
I’m shopping for an s1 for the wife.
She is currently slumming it on a heckler sl.
It’s an S2, I’m throw in a free shorty stem….lol
We increased the travel to match the Druid though and put a Zeb 160mm fork on it. The purple looks great in my opinion.

Working off one of the worst kept secrets going around, I've created this thread to discuss all things pertaining to the soon to be released 2026 Forbidden eDreadnought.

The bike will be powered by the Avinox M2 motor and will retain the high pivot system of the analogue version. Longer travel (enduro version) than the eDruid (which was released last year).

I've just pulled the trigger on the following here Downunder:

  • Forbidden eDreadnought
  • Tier 2 - Tangerine Dreams
  • S4 / X-Large
  • Ridewrap
  • Large battery (as opposed to the small battery - with regard to battery sizes, look at the current eDruid offerings)
Hoping to drop here sometime in May.

After much discussion with my guy at the LBS, I'm 6'1", but I tried a lot of his bikes today and settled on the S4 (the difficulty is that the LBS doesn't actually have the geo specs for the eDreadie, so difficult to compare to the eDruid and other bikes) I had a crack on his Norco Range XL and that was comfortable.

So if you've thrown down a deposit, post it up!
High Rock Ruti

I have a pole large (wish I had large pole). Not really the same as your dreadnougt, however I would consider sizing down also, big bikes are a handful, considering how much time and terain, the extra large size will be in it's sweet spot; a small percentage of it's day

Warm Regards Ruti

The wife is 5’2”, a s2 would be too large unfortunately.
This is a small Nukeproof giga 297 for scale:

And not to sound like a broken record, how tall are you ntm? Everyone here is telling me I'm a S3..... my gooroo at the LBS is adament I'm an S4....bloody wish I was way taller not in the twilight zone!!

You're not in the twilight zone, S3 is size for your height via people who made bike. S4 is for taller people if you want a long bike S4 if you want a more playful one S3. :D

Does anyone have the reach and stack numbers for the edreadnought for the S3 and S4 for comparison?
Had a ride on an analogue dreadnought S3 last night after I'd been out riding, it's pretty much the same size as my XL '09 Nomad... so need some numbers for when I had back to the LBS to argue for the smaller size.
Thanks.

If they’re the same front triangle, you can use a geometry calculator with estimated fork size and get close-ish. I doubt a different rear triangle would change it too much.

The tier 1 is a sram build, red/black fade.
The tier 2 is a fox build, orange/black fade.
Batteries were listed as the 600/800wh. I ended up with a 800, though I'd have preferred the 600.

I wouldn't stress on the sizing, at 6'1" your choice should be based on inseam length. 34"+, I'd go s4. Less, I'd go s3.
That is too funny!! As is the way, measured and you wouldn't believe it.... I am 34" inseam exactly.... like WTF!! So once again, smack in the middle!!

Get an S3

I'd bet money on you finding the S4 way to big.

i think deep down he wants someone to tell him to get a S4 :ROFLMAO: My friends same height as me and his always on xl bikes and complains about handling all time. If your 6-6,2 imo its better to go large and play round with stems than get a xl and have the option of 5mm off a stem (35mm) its down to individual but mtbs are big af now in xl and aimed at the 6,3 + dudes

I have druid side S4 size and a druid core S3. im 6 foot even, 34 inseam. most days I prefer the S4 but I could go either way, you adapt. the taller stack is the biggest thing I notice and that makes it more comfortable but higher bars on s3 would do the same. I have 30mm stem on s4 and 45mm stem on s3.

i got a s3 normal and ebike, i find the ebike one feels longer on trail for some reason. Reach numbers are pointless on these bikes as the druid s3 normals 480 and the eebs 466? i think? no where near same but they both feel same size when sat on them.

eDreadnought S3 Reach 461 and Stack 669, S4 Reach 481 and Stack 682 with 180mm Fork.

After riding the analogue S3 Dreadnought the other day and now looking at the geo's over the S3 & S4 the reach on the S4 Dreadie is only 10mm longer than the S3 analogue. The major difference is in the stack with the Dreadie being higher. So I guess your observations are right, I found the S3 analogue quite comfortable, the S4 electric won't be that much different in reaching out, but it will be higher. My preference is for a more upright position and may not have to put higher riser bar on...then again maybe not as high as I first thought. I can alway roll the bar back a tad to shorten. That is what I did with my XL Norco Bigfoot which has a whopping 510mm reach...

I agree, in the end you will make it work for yourself, or if it's so out of whack, then you'll change. However the numbers arn't huge their differences.

I would 100% test ride before dropping the coin. I didn't and honestly regret it. At 6'1", you're firmly in S3 territory for the eDruid, and I'm guessing the Nought-e will be the same size chart.

My s3 eDruid matches up suprisingly close to my Raaw Jibb v2 LT in geometry, but it feels so much bigger. A lot of that is weight. The very tall stack is also a lot of it (and the Raaw is already taller than most). I find myself steering the eDruid but I lean the Raaw.

I've added 10mm of spacers under the stem and dropped down to a 20mm rise bar to shorten the ETT & bar height a little — which helped.

I have a deposit down on an edread S4 in 'Back to beginnings' colourway. Whatever that is...
Been reliably informed they are NOT announcing the edreadnought until 15/16th. The tomorrow announcement is for the edruid update and they chose to not join the mega DJI bike drop tomorrow as they're all at it on Thurs

You shoulda gone the next Tier up..."The Back to the Future" model. I'm reliably informed that the Avinox on that tier is fitted exclusively with a flux capacitor which generates 1.21 gigawatts of power (as opposed to what everyone else will be getting... 130 nm peak power) and a top speed of 86 mph thereby enabling time travel!

tire pressure dependant of course

It’s on April 17th according to the Forbidden Instagram post.

Just spoke to my LBS, they are checking with the importer here Downunder with regard to delivery to shop. They were saying the S3 availability was better than the other sizings for the 1st delivery.... so a win there.

Does anyone know if the electronic shifting is wired into the Avinox battery, or is it a standalone battery (that has to be replaced). Cheers.

Found this overview of power output depending on the cells they use. Will be interesting to see, if the new Bike come with the new or old 800wh batterys/cells.

Its a screenshot from this very informative video about all the details of the new motors, it is in german.

Given the review Rob did on the new Amflow and how the downtube is slimmer to the old model due to the new battery technology. However comparing the Core to the new Druid-e, there doesn't seem to be any discernable difference beteen the two downtubes, so maybe it's still the old battery. I'm therefore assuming it would be the same for the Dreadie... shame it it is.

Amflow and Atherton off the top of my head have the cylindrical 700. Could be others. Almost every other brand is using the previous 600 or 800.
