Extender battery?

You said you ordered it Nov 18 above.

Let us know when you get it and how it works.
Yes. Not had delivery yet. But they sending this week. Will let you know. It’s from Spain - it’s not Amazon delivery service. They are slow! Waiting for tracking info. However to tell you truth most of our rides which are 25 to 40 miles we can do but sometimes an extender would be useful especially if I want to have an easier day and put power up. I have maxed out the eco on settings which means can use that for most of ride and then trail on steeper parts.

What payment methods did they offer?

Hi. I have a UNNO Mith.
Has anyone tried the Volabike extender? What do you think?

I have bought different one.

Waiting for delivery. The suppliers sent me this about the Volabike’s extender

Good morning. The battery has a two-year warranty. Advantages over the Volabike extender: ours is a true 400 Wh. With all extenders, you have to get between 10 and 15% of the theoretical value. Ours has a higher Wh rating, but the actual 400 Wh is verified. The Volabike extenders are charged with their charger, but through a separate charging port inside the bag. This means opening and closing the bag every time the extender needs charging. It also has a power switch inside the bag; you have to open and close it again.
All of this affects the functionality and durability of the extender.
Our extender, small, compact, and 100% effective and race-tested for a year, also installs in the water bottle cage, a very good option to be able to go out on short rides with the water bottle and on long rides with the extender without having to manipulate anything on the bike, the volabike extender inserted inside the bag, does not have this agility of option.
Also very important, right now the Volabike extender is out of stock due to faults and errors in the bike, with the new Avinox software update.

Dang dude. It's taking forever for you to get the battery. We need to know! :)

I know. It’s rediculous. Still waiting. They said it’s stuck at customs. I actually paid them on 20 th nov. they said they have not delivered to UK. Coming from Spain. Wish it was Amazon !
I don’t think will get it till new year but will keep you posted.

So, this is PRECISELY what ai am concerned about.
I don’t want to brick my bike…
Hopefully Avinox doesn't block the use of any aftermarket extenders once the official one arrives. That would suck for those that have bought these home built ones 😂

I wrote to Avinox. They don't have any extenders planned, but they recommend not using third-party ones. :(

Dear Andrea,

Thank you for contacting Avinox Support. We appreciate the opportunity to assist you with your concern.

Based on our internal review, Avinox currently does not have any plans to release a range extender for the current bicycle system. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Additionally, we have not conducted internal testing or gathered data regarding the compatibility of third-party range extender products, so for your safety, we recommend that you avoid using such products with your bicycle equipped with the Avinox system.

We will also document your feedback as a Voice of Customer case for further evaluation and discussion by our engineering team in the future.

Should you have further questions, please reply to this email and let us know.

Thank you for choosing Avinox.

Best Regards,

Avinox Support

Sorry to read this

There is a lot of bogus marketing behind extenders "made in Spain"
In that particular case, the extender is manufactured by an individual selling batteries in 2nd hand websites /Apps mainly Wallapop

This is the listing for that particular battery it´s the same being sold by different (they are just resellers)

Is has been promoted by paid influencers and they created what pretend to be a "official" website

Such influencers, have been promoting this battery as being manufactured by a "company" selling "thousands" of extenders, literally, just to end admitting that there is only and individual behind the "company"
Example:
Technically those extenders have no control of current output, no way of preventing reverse current into the main battery

The sellers have told literally if you connect and power on extender before switching on the bike it´s misuse, no warranty, no responsibility over bike failure. Just a little error on you and the e-bike and extender are done

It´s easy to manufacture a battery but it´s not easy to design the control circuitry and waterproof enclosure for an e-bike, nor cheap

All of this is known is Spain where they don´t sell much now, but they have found a green field of new victims in Europe

None of this extenders are CE or UN 38.3 certified, delays in delivery are probably caused by the carrier having detected a LiIon battery bigger than 99Wh and asked for the safety datasheed and UN38.3 certification for compliance with ADR road transportation rules.

All of those batteries are being sent against ADR on non-ADR certified cardboard boxes, wich are expensive!!

Literally everything is illegal around those batteries and it´s shipping

Cheers from Spain

The reason that Avinox will not release an extender is that they will come somewhere after Q3 with an upgraded battery of 900Wh with the same form factor.

Ever get the battery or a refund?
Still not got battery but have been in contact with them. Since UK not EU they said much harder to get to UK. I don’t think problem getting refund or going through PayPal but decided to wait another few weeks. They keep promising me I will get it. Will let u know what happens. I think Volabike is more reliable. I spoke to them as well but will wait and see. Not desparate yet. If don’t have battery by end of Jan will go through PayPal.

I'd personally be getting a refund and waiting for the official Avinox extender that's gonna come at some point.

No point bricking your motor/system especially as you can still get a decent length ride with plenty Elevation on a 800wh

There is no RE coming out from Avinox. Even Avinox confirmed.

I can honestly say, the only reason I didn't buy an Amflow on sale is because they don't make an extender.

We do 25 to 40 miles no extender. This bike bike beats every other bike on market - hands down. I have had Bosch motor before this - no where near as good. This bike is a game changer. Would never get another motor.

Miles mean nothing to me, Its all about vertical. Our mountains are steep. Ive done 10 miles with 7000 ft vertical. I've also done 35-40 miles and 7000ft vertical.
