Extender battery?

Interesting, care to share please? My web searching has found nothing.

I have no idea about them or if it's any good.

I think these operate in a way that charge the existing battery, so your % would go down slower.

Potential to be detected by firmware update or if they prevent the port being used while the motor is drawing power.

So quite a few risks.

Thanks, quite pricey considering the risks.

Significant size of battery though.

@nrgbod (who I think has made his own) can probably provide some more information on component costs and charging operation.

Hopefully Amflow are working an official one with DJI

I hope DJI bring one out. I'd also like it if it used the extender first as that's much easier to remove and charge indoors.

The extender powers the motor directly through the charge port sharing the load with the main battery.
The bike software won't allow the extender to charge the main battery and will throw an error if it tries.
The extender should have electronics to stop the main pack charging the extender.
The charge harness has 15A and 60A fuses built in as standard so is well protected anyway.

No Brasil já tem várias

I was at a bike shop last week looking at some Amflow bikes here in SD and they DO have an extender battery availible in the good old USA.
Just came out last week.
Dont know if it’s Amflow, DJI, or an aftermarket brand but the rep said YES they could provide one to whoever wanted one.

As far as telling the OP to lose weight or ride harder or get fitter that is stupid dude.
Ya got nothing positive to say then just move along.
There is a ignore feature on this site I believe so in the future when you realize nobody is responding to your “Post” you’ll know why.
OK now slam me so I can hit that button.

To the OP look around for the extender battery and you’ll probably find one, check with GRAHAM OVER AT Trailwatts they might of added one to their stable.
They don’t make a extender battery for a 23’ gen 3 levo but looky there.

252w plus the 700w that comes with the bike.
provides more power that I can use in a session.

Anymore info about and extender in the USA?

I also ride a lot in Perú, we do rides that can go basically straight up for 9-10k. After that, (in eco)you have no personal energy left, either, so the dh‘s become dangerous as fvck with fatigue, altitude, and exposure.
That is what I call "growth mindset" going beyond what others consider limits. I do a lot of distance in the backcounty of Alaska and always push my luck and what would be considered reason. There is no way to know when starting up a mountain that has no trail what to expect. Speaking of exceptional areas to ride, could I ask what areas of Peru have good mountain biking.

I asked in the pinned 'Amflow support team is here' thread a few weeks back.
No reply.

The first guy that asked about this in that thread some months back was told they would ask the team and get back to them but never did.

Waste of time, they're obviously not bothered about providing support.

So they don't listen to their customers... you helped me make up my mind. Thanks.

Not gonna get new product info from them on a Wednesday in October.

Might have to wait until a big unveiling. I'm sure YT Alex will say it's 100wh but 10kg

For those with the tools on them and 15 mins to swap, full size 600 (£529) and 800 (£699) battery's are available on the Amflow website now.

The volabike one looks really good. The issue is not when Amflow will release one, it's the radio silence on whether they have any plans to release one at all, which has gone on for many months.

Using a third-party range extender invalidates the warranty, so it seems only fair that Amflow customers should know if they are planning to release an official one at some stage.

It would be very annoying to buy a third-party range extender now, only for Amflow to suddenly release an official one the next week or month without warning and you've invalidated your warranty for no reason.

The Amflow rep went through our town and was trying to get dealers. I talked to one of the bike shop owners and told him I know of 3-4 people that would buy one if they made an extender. He passed it on to the Amflow rep and no response, yet. Me and my buddies will be ordering one the second an extender is available. We have big steep climbs of 6k to 8k of vert and the extender sure would be nice.

Wait til Spring 26 and you'll be happy

I believe you can just tow a generator with an Amflow? Unlimited range.

Amflow rep said spring.
That sounds promising. I had thought about getting the volabike one mentioned above as it looked good.

However, they have very mixed reviews on trustpilot so I'd rather wait for an official one, let's hope it gets released next Spring. 🙏
