Ebike problem

Hi purchase a 1000watt wheel of eBay and fitted it to my sons bike .the thing is I had to alter the phase wires to make it run forward. So instead of green to green blue to blue and yellow to yellow its blue green yellow blue. Problem is the pedal assist wont work and the speedometer is erratic. Any ideas would be appreciated thanks
