That charge port looks far worse...

My bike died while charging after a wet ride, needed a new battery,screen and charger. I don't know for sure what happened but I suspect water somehow dripped somewhere it shouldn't.

The change could well be for waterproofing or to be compatible with a range extender.

If i buy the Amflow PL Carbon. Thinking a mullet setup might suit me better to start (5’8”).

If you’ve owned an Amflow, what would you change/upgrades straight away (fork, brakes, tires, dropper, etc.)? Anything i need to know (apart from that sensor that needs replacing occasionally)

Also, would you buy now and ride this season, or wait for the Velduro Rogue / new Avinox options? I don’t want to miss another spring/summer, although I do have an analogue MTB that I ride. Itching to get involved

I would not change anything, just ride it like you stole it . It just kills everything else on the Market.

The rear tyre needs a beefier carcass. It's just not a strong enough tyre for an eMTB. You'll find it a bit squirmy on the rear and have plenty of rim dings (or you'll have to ride it at 30psi)

I have a DHR on the rear in Exo+ and it's much more suited for the job. Some go even heavier with DD but for me DHR in Exo+ is great.

Other than that, I'd suggest actually just riding it as a full 29er right off the bat for a bit. I was expecting to find the bike really wooden with the 29ers but it rides great as one, and I really really enjoy the extra height - I used to always pedal strike with my previous 27.5 (both ends) bike which I rarely do now.

I and many others have upgraded the suspension that the PL Carbon comes with - but it's not 100% needed, it's more preference.

I would probably wait now to see what comes next from Amflow, I think they are very close to their next bike. But expect it to be more expensive than last years bike. So if you're ready to go all in on a brand new bike at full RRP - sure. If not, buying a PL Carbon at a small discount today is still a great choice.

If i wanted to ride a new Amflow bike on private land, unrestricted do I just do something using a VPN and NZ? Do i need to do this before registering the bike? I also heard something about Avinox needing all your details after 100Km of riding? If you do change location does this then affect the location tracking incase of theft? (Not asking about legalities or warranties)

Tested an Amflow today, nice bike huge power, smoked the battery though (did way too much Turbo and boost for testing).

Bike shop owner was fairly tight lipped, but did tell me to wait for an incoming sale and some new announcements in around a month...

That’s a shame, I have dropped my Bike in a lake and it’s been fine. The dealer told me the Motor is designed to withstand 2 minutes in 3 ft of water.

Hi. So local shop (UK) has a deal with a saving of £350: Pedals, Stem, bars and grips.

They can mullet it and change rear tyre. Anything else I need to change? Also its mentioned above that 29 is OK. Has anyone mulleted it and found it to be better or worse? Presume it changes the Geo slightly.

Unless there was some pressing personal issue; I wouldn't be buying (nearly) any bike from 2025 at the moment. It's like buying an iPhone in July right now.

I have ridden the Pro and the cheaper one, imo the Pro does ride better by how much is subjective. It’s more important to get the size right this bike fits like a glove and is very poppy and agile. . No matter which one you go for you get the motor and battery and the App, with the smooth shift this is game changer. If you do go for a current one based on one of the deals you will be very happy with it.

Personally I would wait and see what comes out in next few months, you will have the latest motor and a few other bits. I do know all about the new bikes but have agreed not to leak anything.

I couldn’t possibly comment on prices of the new bikes. Other than it’s going to make some other brands look very expensive, for what they offer.

The “Next Year” premium. Do the spec upgrades matter enough, does next year’s geometry better match how you ride, will spending more for small gains make sense if those gains do not increase your performance or joy significantly?

My take is that the enjoyment component is primary, if delaying the decision will impact the “fun” factor then now would be a good choice. Or at least that is my excuse for rationalizing spending money on a new toy

Another deal i have found... £500 off the cheaper model and £350 of bar, stem, grips and pedals options FOC. Also will change to Hope 27.5 rear wheel and DD tyre for cost price. To add to the decision; does this Non-Pro deal make it better than he Pro deal?! Get the cheap one and ride for a year or 2 then get latest tech then...

Whatever is the apple of your eye, with a depreciating asset like an e-bike, pay the least amount possible.

I’d have no qualms buying the current/outgoing model if I wanted an Amflow, unless for some bizarre reason the v2 model ends up being cheaper somehow…

That said, there’s plenty of Avinox equipped bikes in the pipeline, if you’re in no rush why wouldn’t you wait to see what emerges in the next 6 months.

Atherton S.170E with Avinox motor is on the market from May in the UK, although photos show cassette (i.e. not paired to their gearbox) realistically priced for a premium brand ENDURO spec. Pre-Sale orders now open, full spec TBA.................
