DH World Cup thread

Really good side by side here, showing how Gracey went from last at the first split to top of the box, reeling in Vali Hol all the way through the woods.

I'm just not sure how that's possible.
It's wild.
It was just a slow, inevitable reeling in. Slow being relative, obviously.

It's impressive but not as fast as I made it to the loo at 3am after eating some leggy potatoes & discovering in my fifties that that was a very bad idea. 😭

Plenty of talent pushed into Q2 once again!
Dunne , Kolb , Gwin , Davis , Iles , Thirion , Maes , Hart , Rude , Ocallaghan....

Well i'll look forward to watching that, its almost as good as the main event and its on demand via Youtube

I would get involved but this food poisoning is making me wish for the sweet embrace of death, or semi finals as it used to be known.

It's looking like we wont get the Q2 recap this round. Wyn Masters reported that there was nothing on site as there had been at the previous rounds. I'm guessing the XC took up some resources.
As we know , nothing is ever certain with WB running the show , whether its changing the time gaps between riders in finals from round to round , or the final product they deliver to their paying customers. It seems to be 100% "make it up as they go along"

I think the gates belt prize has just been won.

Edit - Nah, elite only apparently.

They should stick to making movies and cartoons , give us back Red Bull and the Warner , F*****ing shower :) and not turn the coverage into a cartoon

Another brilliant race weekend. Jackson and Gracey on top of the world and racing so well.

After qually we knew times were going to be super tight and they were. This season keeps on delivering.

My fantasy team finally nailed triple figures with 102 points for the weekend. Stoked!

Same, I've gone up to the dizzy heights of 6400. I've practically bagged the overall.

Not sure if this year will turn into the Jackson & Gracey show. There's a long way to go & of course not every track suits every rider but the interest for me so far lies in the Q1 & 2 bear trap. Lots of big names getting caught out so far. Reece Wilson can't get into the show, Pivot appear to be wasting their time so far, Mille Johnset hasn't made a race either and Danny Hart & Richie Rude are struggling. No protection & win it or bin it qualification is going to be focusing minds like never before I think.

Add to that, sluggish starts from Troy Brosnan & Bruni & Amuary Pierron misfiring at Leogang, guys like Henri Kiefer & Jordan Williams finding their feet & it feels poised to be a fascinating season.

I think its great, rather than a protected riders taking it easy approach, its the 30 fastest guys willing to take the risks.

I love that we are seeing guys like Kiefer, Rogge, Pontvianne etc race in the big time!

Go Gracie , well deserved and its' been coming for her , progression all the way , Go Norco , hopefully Danny H can have a good result also soon
Yeah very impressive. She looks so comfortable on the bike.

Danny is due a result!

I think either the top section of track slowed or the wind changed direction as the last few riders all lost huge amounts of time in comparison to the later sectors.

A few of those names really seem to be at their best when conditions are difficult. Times have been that tight at the top that any small mistake will drop you out of the top 20, and there's nowhere to make that time up. There's been less slow speed technical sections than in previous years too.

I hope we see some fresh slower speed technical lines cut in for some other races. Stuff that will change through the week and have multiple lines rather than everyone sticking to the mainline.

Val di sole is always a good one to watch and I can see Jackson taking another win here tbh!

Dean Lucas complaining there's been a lot of one line tracks. Not sure he's right about that but he needs the clicks after all. Val Di Sole like you say should be more of a leveller, being one long rock garden really. It's well known to be a few riders' least favourite.

On Danny, Norco's last edit played Neil Young's 'Old man' when Danny came on screen. Someone is pulling legs over there.

I enjoy (watching) Val Di Sole, and I 100% would not like to try that track. Most of the others I think I would give it a go.

Last year Les Gets & Val Di Sole were the two races where Amuary Pierron left us open mouthed. I think he won Les Gets in the wet by 6.4 seconds & then VDS by four ish? The vein of form he hit was unbelievable, especially VDS where Dak had sat on the hot seat more or less the entire race.

Just went to tweak the team but PB have locked it, so I'm gambling big on Canada eh.
