Just looking at how to get this. I’m with BT Broadband and they seem to offer a few TNT and HBO channels. Is there a specific channel I’d need to get if I was to add this to my BT package? It looks like they do a package for £5 a month for six months, then it’s £25. I suspect this is a 24 month contract and I’m not fussed about watching any other sport, so might be a bit of a waste.

Tiz a difficult choice…..

Surprisingly, not as expensive as I thought it'd be. Especially when you consider that a NZ dollar is currently trading at 11.2p or 7.9c per dollar.

Just note Dan the tricky wee play they have there. Monthly is in NZD$ and yearly is USD$ so a year is $106 NZD

I just buy per month you can fit the whole season in 6 months, with some careful purchase dates you could almost do 5 months with the summer break of 6 ish weeks.

2026 UCI Downhill World Cup Calendar
  • 1–3 May: Race of South Korea – MONA YongPyong, Republic of Korea
  • 28–31 May: Loudenvielle-Peyragudes – France
  • 11–14 June: Saalfelden Leogang - Salzburgerland – Austria
  • 19–21 June: Lenzerhide - Switzerland
  • 3–5 July: La Thuile - Valle d'Aosta – Italy
  • 9–12 July: Pal Arinsal - Andorra
  • 21–23 August: Les Gets - France
  • 26-30 August: Val Di Sol - Italy WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
  • 25–27 September: Whistler Mountain Bike Park – British Columbia, Canada
  • 2–4 October: Lake Placid - New York

Tricky gits. I hadn’t noticed that!! Good spotting.

Okay fellow armchair racers, the Pinkbike/EMTB Forums DH league is live. The Mods have been super helpful with this, creating a space to discuss the season & the league but since I have no idea who wants in, for the time being please just drop me a PM for the password.

To make it interesting, I think the ultimate winner should receive not only the glory but also a prize - maybe a trophy or a certificate or whatever but marking the permanent bragging rights is only right. We can work that out.

The league name is EMTB Forums Worldwide syndicate & as things stand right now, I am on course to win it at a canter! So please get involved & stop my run to glory!

And keep in mind if you play the global league, your rider choices are automatically ported over to the EMTB league, so the effort involved only extends to joining the new league. Easy.

Can you add password here?!

I can. I haven't done it that way in order to keep randoms out but given PB have dragged their feet getting ready this year & time is tight, I will if in the next post if you're happy to have the forum name attached to the league with no gatekeeping?

Guess you could do it as a "spoiler" so peeps have to click on it, rather than it being picked up on searches/bots ?

Oh and its WYNT track walk

Cant believe how cheap the riders are for round 1. Usually we get a couple of guns and 4 outside chances.
May pay to read the PB page over there. The reasoning for the cheaper riders is the points awarded for higher places are a lot more important. The actual basics of the competition have changed. In hindsight I can see why they have done it.

Going to be a very interesting 2026 ahead!

I've played this PB Fantasy for 4-5 years and it changes every year. Its tending towards picking the winners this year and no rider will cost more than $300k... but many riders can hit the $300k cap in 2026 instead of just 1 M/F.

Still with $1.5m in salary cap, that still allows you to pick 4 capped out riders and 2 outsiders at the final round.

Here now at the first round, it could be anyone's but I'm saying that the pricing for round 1 is very generous and most people can pick 5-6 riders they think have a chance, rather than last years pricing where it was 3 good chances and 3 outsiders... picking the outsiders took a bit more thought and research.

Last year, it was all about average placings, example... picking 2 riders in 5th and 6th spot was worth far more than picking the winner, 51 points vs 30 points. So your whole team needed to be "up there" which took a bit of thought. Picking 3 guns and 3 random outsiders in 2025 didnt cut it. You needed the whole team to be in the top 15, even without the winner.
Now in 2026, the winner is worth more than the two in 5th and 6th spot combined. So even know the cap is $300,000 cost per rider, nailing the winner each week will be the main objective.

Yep exactly, I prefered the previous version as you had to research it more. I tell you what though a mechanical or DNF is going to kill some people this year. You will lose a tonne of points

True & IRL that won Vali the overall. The Q1 points on offer add up to 4050 over nine races. Not sure of the implications of that change. Generally you would expect Q1 outcomes to follow race results but we know that doesn't always happen. Then again I can't be bothered to look back through 2025 but it will have some bearing.

Going to stick my neck out & suggest this course doesn't suit Jackson Goldnuts. Too flat, too pedally, an anti park rat track.

Obvs saying this to put the fantasy cat amongst the fantasy pigeons. 😜

I'm not sure the track suits anyone ! It's just completely different. Looking at the live timing the Frenchies are flying in timed practice with 5 out of top 6.

You automatically play the global league & can also join two other public leagues & any number of private ones I.e. the forum league.
