Cube Stereo 160 S 750 2022 Specs Modifications

So in the mean time, the bearings in the Cassette Hub broke down.
I went to the shop for a warranty repair, but finally they made me pay.

"There was grease everywhere in your cassette and we had to clean it", was a part of the explanation
I don't see how that can be related, but the more I asked the more stupid the answers got, so I retreated from this challenge.

Hard times for them, Ya trying to wriggle out of anything that's going to cost um money

This is how the old bearing looks, after cleaning.
My guess is that some water got above this lower bearing, and slowly entered through the upper sealing to the inside.

Hi @BeBiker can I ask how you removed the bearing from the blocklock lower casing?
Acros say it's not seperately replaceable and I have to buy the whole thing
I'm sorting a mates Mondraker Crafty R out at the moment which uses the same headset and I tried to remove the bearing from the lower but it seems to be encapsulated into the blocklock steel part which is then screwed to the outer casing - so it ripped to pieces trying to come out

I've ordered the full £110 top and bottom replacements from Acros - but I will have to do this on my Cube soon as it's creaking and they're terrible for water ingress due to the internal cables - I'd rather replace with high quality bearings for £40 instead of spending £110 at acros that will last another 6 months at best :(

If you turn it around, press or hammer on the bearing ring, it comes out together with the blocklock.
There's not a lot of space to hammer or press, but it works.

Got it thanks!
Obviously too late for this, the outer bearing race was rusted in - my mates Mondraker Crafty was a 2022 and never been replaced so I thought it was somehow screwed or welded in.

Turns out just a few blobs of glue and a LOT of rust
I think I'll have a go on mine and fit some of the airevelo bearings as they do stainless steel ones which should cope better with the water ingress.
Thanks for your help (y)

I'm looking to buy a Bosch powered lamp with a switch close to the grips.
We often drive from the fields into a dark downhill in the bush, so speed and ergonomics is key here.

There's a hole in the market.
I want such lamp to also have a QC3.x USB output port for occasional smartphone-GPS tours.

Then for avoiding pedal strikes, I want to replace the 165 with shorter crank arms.
160mm? 155mm? 152mm?

There is 1 bottle holder mount on the down tube, but when looking more closely there is room enough for 2 bottles.
Are there decent 1-to-2 adapters, or should I simply drill 2 holes ?

Based on the conditions, the second bottle holder mount could then be used for a second water-bottle, a tools-bottle or a heavy class-X lock.
Loving your thread, I have the B-rad system on my bike and could take pictures of how i finally decided on a setup that works to fit the most on the bike solutions.
I'll update this with some pictures or to a later post if i find you installed it ha!
