Struggling to decide on going for some shorter cranks , choices are
155mm hope (black or bronze if they still do them match the hope bling, ideally would like bronze tho but pretty sure they don't do it no more!!)

Pinned 145mm cranks silver or black can always add a bolt for colour

Would be going on a Whyte e160 currently there 165mm cranks so I'm wondering if the 145mm would be too short(only got short legs tho) or is the 155 the way to go

The OEM cranks were 165mm on the Trek Rail. I installed 160mm carbon cranks on both the Rail and Fuel EXE. After 3+ years I’ve had no problems.

But they are stupid-expensive.

I have a E160 RSMX , 2023 , changed to cheap XLC 152mm cranks which cost £19.00 at the time from Germany ,
XLC crank set CR-E01 for Bosch e-bike systems are the ones.
They do exactly the same job as Pinnd or hopes , I was going down that route also , but decided to spend my money elsewhere with the saving , brakes primarily , get rid of the pain in the ass codes.
I don't care about the bling , especially on a Whyte , they are not thing of beauty are they , had no issues with the cranks and they have taken a beating up to now.
You need to check clearance , q factor , especially with the Whyte E160 to ensure they clear the bespoke Whyte motor cover.

I've just setup a new bike this weekend which came with 165 mm cranks & swapped them out to 145 mm Pinnd cranks.

Riding around my local streets they felt fine & I'm 6ft tall & coming off a bike with 170 mm cranks.!

I’ve got a Whyte E160 and fitted Hope 155mm cranks over a year ago and they dramatically reduced pedal strikes.

I've gone to short cranks, Pinnd 145mm on Shimano Ep8 motors (from 165mm standard) and find them great - I ride bikepark and local trails

I changed my E-160 165mm OEM cranks for a set of 155mm FSA Bosch G4 E-Bike Cranks. Like them a lot, way less pedal strikes.
Also changed my OEM mullet setup to a full 29er setup as I ride trial/XC only, but I left the Shape.It Link (65-69mm) MX link (OEM setup) in set to 69mm (high position). That steepened the head tube angle another 0.6deg from standard. Bike climbs really good now and with the lifting of the bottom bracket (because of longer MX Shape.It link+29er back wheel) and shorter cranks pedal strikes are a thing of the past now.

good shout , did you need to change the rear wheel setting in the app , does this have to be done by the dealer ? , I have a E160 RSMX mullet , fancy trying 29/29 set up , if I read your post right , you just change to a 29'er , left everything else stock setting,

I have the 145 pinned, took a bit of getting used to but the ground clearance sure makes for any loss of toque or leverage

Yes I left everything else stock. Just changed the rear wheel. I did measure the tire circumference to set it in theCycle app but it didn't allow it as it was beyond the top setting. I just set the circumference then to 90% of the measured value then, thinking that I will just add 10% to any trip. Strange tho the distance in the Cycle app seems to correspond with the Strava distances.
It does seem tho as if the top assisted speed is higher too as I managed to spin out at 36 kph an a flat road in top gear. I don't seem to hit the speed limit anymore and the bike climbs really well. Somehow I think it climbs better now. I'm very happy with the setup. I can recommend it.
