I am tempted by a decal change but I don’t mind the orange fox now I’ve seen the bike, I also have a parts colour option in stock that matches ?

Went for a longer ride today - all in Trail mode (except couple short bursts of Boost). 27 miles and 5k elevation, had 1 bar left at the end. Did not feel I was working much harder in Trail mode than in Boost. Shimano's claim "Set it and forget it" for new Trail mode seems to be mostly true.
Another testament to motor quietness on climbs - had few people surprised that I was coming up behind them: "didn't even hear you" (y)
On other hand found a weak spot: on flatter trails where you need to pedal to keep the speed, hitting 20mph wall was super annoying, especially when pedaling into the jumps. I wish the limit was closer to 25mph.

You can move the speed sensor to the front of your chain stay facing outwards, and then put a bar magnet on your cranks. The power will never turn off because it will think you are never exceeding 8mph or so because you can physically only spin your cranks so fast. Bike can easily get up to 28mph on flats before you start running out of gears.

Haha, brilliant - definitely something I'll try soon.

if this works, post of the year!?

It worked perfectly fine on the previous shimano systems. I can ask my friend for pics who still has it set up on his decoy I believe. Only issue is this speed sensor looks bigger.

brief street test seems to work..

As an FYI apparently the new Shimano software can store and record any attempts to change the assistance limit, and if any evidence of tampering is found it will invalidate the warranty.

The older Shimano software/E8000 did not do this.

Obviously early days and yet to be tested, but worth knowing.

First ride today, bike is amazing. This is my first ebike and the distance covered and number of climbs I did was simply astonishing!

The left hand crank arm bolt seems to have fallen off which is annoying, clearly not done up tight by the factory.

Please can someone with the same bike take a picture of their left hand crank arm so I can see what the bolt should look like, cheers!

It's same on both sides. Reach out E*13 - I had spacers between cranks and BB missing on my Meta Trail, they shipped me replacement for free.

probably the only other ebike i would consider besides my levo.

The slim downtube, the decent battery/motor, ability to customize, and the decent mech thats included stock, for a decent price you can't be a commie!

Might even sell my vado once these come out and that way I can have a pavement/trail killer with the meta, and enduro/XC/downhill with the levo.

I also like that hardtail meta pwr, but it comes with an e7000 boooo!!!, would be fun hooligan bike.

fixed, just remove the metal bracket attached to the frame & grind about 2mm off the inside face.
Yes that was my next move but raising the part vertically seems to have helped. Will try again today

First ride today and was pleasantly surprised by everything. He is a little ride review, and the motor efficiency was amazing riding at normal bike speeds. My decoy with 540wh and e8000 would not have been able to do this full ride unless I REALLY conserved, and I still had 40% left on the Meta!

First longer ride today. A beast on the downhills. Just point and shoot. Super stable and planted.May take a while to get the ultimate shock and fork settings with the 350,000,000 possible combinations with Fox.

A definite improvement over the 2019 Race 29 meta power

Rode right next to a Levo today and I'd say the Levo is quieter still, but the EP8 pretty darn silent. Rattle did not bother me one bit.

Same thing happened to me, except my crank arm fell off while I was in the air off a jump. My ankle is f ck d.

6300 ft in ECO means you were doing some work man! Agree things feel spot on to me as well.

Yes, plus I weigh just under 160lbs so being fairly light helps. Legs were feeling it. If I had more time I was going to up the power to Trail mode. All stock settings, haven’t played around with the app at all yet.

magnet ziptied to crank arm didn't last long, if you try the same I suggest bringing the original sensor fixing bolt with you on your ride + zipties + ziptie cutter so you can revert back to stock & have motor drive.

here's version 2: rare earth magnet with countersunk hole + M3 bugle head machine screw, threads tapped into crank arm with an M3 tap.

Awesome work. Too bad we cant just hack the software to raise the limit.

Man seeing you boys getting your bikes is awesome!
Can't wait to receive my Power SX Signature hopefully in February ?

About my crank arm just falling off mid jump. Get some loctite on your crank arm locking cap. Talked to commencal today and apparently they don't have any extra crank arms or caps, or any small parts really.

Afaik (from the E8000) the cap is just to lightly pressurise the crankarm (just like a stemcap) before you secure the arm with the 2 hex screws (where it's super important to tighten them evenly).

So to be clear, the caps have little if anything to do with actually holding the cranks on correct? It the hex bolts job to do that.

For those with Signature edition (the first ones that is), this is the latest paint color code from Commencal:

Pearl White/Electroplate Lagoon YS-775/YS-2280-1

However this is likely and internal paint code as I asked a color matching company about it and there is no universal cross reference apparently. If anyone has any leads let me know!

Yes and know, simply put the alloy caps done up tight will probably stop you having an o shit moment, but they are not how the cranks are secured.
