Chainring Guard for AmFlow PX, ideas?

So I made a bashplate out of 2mm aluminium and it’s spaced off the motor cover and fixed to the cover, not by the M4 bolts. I understand it’s probably useless because my main concern is the chainring/chain. So I was thinking about buying the PL spider and a chainring and then just getting any of the hundreds of 104 bcd type chainring guards? Would this be possible?

There are indeed no good protection methods for the chain and chainring. The motor and guard plate don't need this thing. They are available for purchase on the official website and are easy to replace. Maybe it's more important to apply a film on the frame.

Yeah that will help with rocks , because someone who feels they need that sort of protection on a motor is really worrying about a bit of useless frame protection like film

No, it won't.
There is only one and perfectly working solution for the avinox motors that protects the chain, the chain ring and the bearings:

You have to buy a special spider that comes with the chain guard.
The ring is made of fiber-reinforced plastic instead of aluminum on purpose.
If you hit a rock with an all aluminum construction the force would go direclty into the bearings and other parts.
The fiber-reinforced plastic ring dampens the peak load significantly.
And if the rings breaks, it has protected the components and has done his job.
The plastic ring is a wear part, is sold separately as a spare part and is cheap.

And the plastic ring has less friction and slides over rocks while aluminum will slow you down, so less chance for going otb.

I designed my own chain guard / chain guide for my X1 motor as there was nothing perfectly suited off the shelf. I designed it in Onshape on an old Samsung smart phone, and sent the files to JLC to be CNC cut from 7075, then anodized to match my bike colour way. It bolts directly to the 104BCD pattern, and also adapt for 130BCD aswell, so I can use larger chainrings.

I am by no means a CAD pro. Just a self taught home gamer, but after familiarising myself with the software have been able to make some pretty cool stuff. (Like that metal 3d printed bracket that holds the motor to the frame) Getting bits custom made at the likes of JLC, PCBway, RapidDirect etc isnt particularily expensive. Like slightly more expensive than what an off the shelf component would probably cost (if I could even find one). But I get it made to my exact specifications, and colours. And the design is entirely my own which is pretty cool aswell.

Looks like they don't have one for 38t yet.

Yes, my fotos show the 34t version with a 34t chainring. But I've also used the 34t version with a 36t chainring with no problems, there are still a few millmeters clearance. 38t is not possible. 36t is max, even if e*13 says it's for 34t.

And does that work with the stock Amflow cranks as according to e*thirteen, you need to change to their cranks.

Yeah good question. I have the PX with a 38T but I might just buy the PL type spider with the 104 bcd and just add one of the normal metal chainring guards as I don’t think that e-thirteen one comes for a 38T ring
