Bike industry is very frustrating

No I would like an avinox but there is nothing available in the United states. If you are lucky to find one it is still a month or two to get one. End of July maybe September which in my state you might get maybe 2 months of riding. It just has been a very frustrating experience. Amflow annouced begining of April still not one amflow in the US. There is multiple brands that say there coming but still a month of 2 before launch. The only real thing in my price range is levo and I am not sold on that bike.
I have a Amflow PL Carbon Pro for sale in the US if interested I can put a post up here.

Considering the lack of supply; a fair price is at least MSRP. I can see a "market adjustment" or "dealer markup" being justified just like is commonplace in the automotive industry when demand exceeds supply. I'd at least reprimand (in not outright terminate) a salesperson of mine who discounted a hot product with questionable resupply. Such a move is a solid indication the person is a bad salesperson. A good salesperson would sell the product in the barn at retail, and perhaps offer a discount to wait for a future shipment.

He'll help him out a bit, but certainly less on an Avi than a Gen5. That said, he operates on low margins and tries to be the go-to to those of us that have to buy a bike every year or so.

I bought my first emtb at 2021, covid times so everything sold out, ordered Orbea Wild but it was delayed so much so I canceled it and bought Gen2 Levo from local shop. Way out of budget full price and just before they launched gen3. But it was great decision, I had so much fun with it and Specialized had great customer service. Next bike two years ago, wanted more modern geometry and Levo’s had shit spec for the price, didn’t want Bosch but Shimano. Ended up with two choices: heavily discounted Pivot LT and Bullit, went with Bullit because it was cheaper. Best bike I have ever owned. Shimano motor is still great. Santa Cruz customer support is great. Bought another bike year ago, Specialized Levo gen3. Heavily discounted. Better geo than previous, decent spec and mastermind. So I have two emtb’s, both with stone age motors but they are still great motors and excellent bikes. Gen2 motor was replaced and battery died right after I sold it, Bullit has motor and battery replaced. I have also commuter with Bosch CX4 with third motor now. So my advice is buy something what you can get now, don’t wait, there’s also something new around the corner. And buy locally with good support 😀

Part the the sales strategy for Avinox is to take interest away from competitors. So yes they make announcements for bikes that aren’t yet available, and yes it’s because they want people to wait to buy their product when it’s available.
For me, I bought the Santa Cruz Vala I always wanted after the M2’s were announced because I got a great deal on it.
Is the M2 better than the Bosch G5? Probably. Do I care? No.
I’m riding now and loving it so it doesn’t matter to me what the rest of the industry is doing.

Try The Path Bike shop Tustin CA.
The have pretty much everything you could want in any kind of bike.
The ship for Free in the lower 48 states. Great people and service.

Avinox surely isn't delivering what they promised. Not at all saying it's intentional. Actually I'm saying the opposite. Something went wrong.

I don't know.

If I offered the masses 'gold' at below market value, but you may have to wait 3, 4 or even 5 + months for obtain it, would you buy 'silver' now or wait? Sounds like good marketing to me.

Personally I'd make offers on Bosch Gen 5 bikes, enjoy the warranty, service, proven reliability, power and savings... unless all you want to do is shuttle up fire roads at mach chicken 🥳

If you're in the business of selling bikes, you need bikes to sell. Future promises don't pay the bills. You think small companies like Propain are comfortable letting the selling season pass by without moving product? Meanwhile you're sitting on a bunch of frames and components that can't be sold. This is the kind of thing that bankrupts companies.

Except you pay first then wait. So in reality they already sold the bikes. Just need to fulfill the orders. And Propain is killing it in the US right now.

This is super basic but perhaps you're not in sales and unaware how things work. A sale is not complete until the product leaves the barn. This means these companies that survive by selling bikes; aren't selling bikes. That isn't in any way a minor detail.

I am in sales...... You're a douche bag you know that right? You must not make many sales with the way you talk to people.

Just don't worry about getting the latest and greatest.

I bought last seasons bike at a 50% discount. Swapped out every part except for the shock and cranks. Used parts from old bike, bought some new stuff and sold all the surplus.

Now the build is exactly what I want.

I had the avinox m2s last month. It developed speed sensor fault immediately. 2 bike shops couldn't get avinox to help sort the issue out. I returned the bike. Now I'm soured on that brand.

This scares me. Maybe I will stay away from avinox

I don't know how true it is but I have read something along these lines more than once with Avinox.
There were some stories told about some shops in England that had Avinox bikes stacked up awaiting replacements and parts for months in the M1 days.
The truth is that a possible lower reliability standard than the Bosch doesn't really bother me; It's the possible lack of being able to get it repaired in a timely manner that's very concerning to me.
On the other hand I've been told through the grapevine that the Gen 5, and even the Gen 4 before it, has essentially a perfect reliability record. That's a value add for me.

Just came back from riding, had a blast on my ice age Shimano. Friend was on His second hand, just bought Rail 4. His 7 years! Old Pivot has just died. He said it’s night and day difference between Shimano 7000…8000 and Bosch Gen4. We had so much until He had a flat tire. And related to the subject in hand, He would have bought new bike, Yeti LTe but it’s available only in August, in best case scenario…

Reinforces the belief that the lack of M2S motor availability now is even more impactful. I know I just decided to stay on my Levo 4 until I see the eCVT tech come to market... and I likely would've already purchased a M2S bike if they had been readily available.

Conversely, now that I'll own my Levo for another year or so; I'll order the Levociraptor to remove the motor's 28mph speed restriction. I had been holding off in case I bought a new bike.

It’s truly not hard to get an M2s bike. Plenty of us on them. You just have to call around man. Your local may not be allocated enough units so you may have to order from somewhere else.
