Unfortunately almost requests for fazua so never looked at that system.Dear TrailwattsUK,
Do you build batteries or range extender solutions also for other bikes and motor systems?
I do have a YT Decoy SN with Fazua system and would like to have a +600WH main battery or a removable range extender.
Thank you for a short reply and best regards
Christian
Plugging a 36v battery into charge port wiring (no high current tolerance) is not a solution. Do not advertise or recommend a setup with no electrical engineering or safety background.I bought the one from this Spanish shop, with 425Wh, and honestly, it works perfectly for me. I had some doubts when I was buying it, but they helped me in English and explained everything. Now I can use the turbo and Auto mode as much as I want without worrying about running out of battery.

We cover mainly specialized and shimano whilst moving into Avinox.
Post pics then. You are posting the same thing in all the forums. Weird.I bought the one from this Spanish shop, with 425Wh, and honestly, it works perfectly for me. Best of all, it connects to the charging port; you just plug it in and you're ready to go. I had some questions when I was buying it, and they helped me in English, explaining everything. when is the extender for gen 1 avinox due out? would it fit to a round frame?Plugging a 36v battery into charge port wiring (no high current tolerance) is not a solution. Do not advertise or recommend a setup with no electrical engineering or safety background.
If that was the safe option, there would be many others available.
Most systems you will see around the globe (excluding Trailwatts) are a simple diode for load sharing (see DIY range extender thread) with little to no protection against thermal and current stability issues.
I did not spend 2 years testing and developing a module for lithium battery systems for nothing
Moving on, need to see the M2 motor and battery soon![]()

The images of the unit sold on a Spanish site shows the extender plugged straight into the port on an S1 Amflow. At best this is a highly vulnerable position and likely to get the charge port smashed.Post pics then. You are posting the same thing in all the forums. Weird.
How do the “official” range extenders deal with this issue? The Orbea Rose and Specialized extenders connect to the power port.
I can’t find an image now but there are pictures of Avinoxes own extender now (though adding a full 600w battery to the top of the down tube is ridiculous and will have a big impact on handling). I didn’t see how that connects but It feels likely that’s going on the charge port as well.
2-300w seems a reasonable target. Amflow should get their act together and release one - I wonder if the issue is that a smaller battery can’t deliver the current needed for the motor. I know the Orbea rise is power limited when using the extender.
it is, but the Amflow port cover seems badly designed for this purpose (though really good normally as closes itself - I've ridden with my Rise port open and got dust and water in it loads of times over the years)Directly on the charging port as most other brands RE are.

Where is that cable going?Directly on the charging port as most other brands RE are.

That is a good point. A charge port cover could be an excellent design for normal use, but terrible for use with a RE plugged into it, or the reverse (flimsy non-self closing ports that normally suck but are unlikely to break off if struck when in the open position with a RE plugged in). Does any company manage to do this well? Locating the port on an interior face (rather than the side) of a tube seems preferable for bikes that may be used with an RE.it is, but the Amflow port cover seems badly designed for this purpose (though really good normally as closes itself - I've ridden with my Rise port open and got dust and water in it loads of times over the years)
The gen4 Levo is in the exact same spot. The images of the unit sold on a Spanish site shows the extender plugged straight into the port on an S1 Amflow. At best this is a highly vulnerable position and likely to get the charge port smashed.
Yeah, that left side of the seat tube position is pretty standard it seems. It is interesting to note how the Levo wire, since it's not routed around the seat tube, helps hold the port cover flap fully open, so it is more out of the way. On the Amflow, since the wire is coming from behind, the flap is at a 90 degree position that makes it stick out maximally and I could easily imagine it snagging pant leg, shoe lace, or stepping on it in the heat of the moment. I'd prefer the Levo routing, although I'd probably want to put a strap around that long stretch of wire to hold it up against the side of the RE, to avoid it getting snagged on anything. The gen4 Levo is in the exact same spot.

Do you really need the extender anymore, now the PR has the 800Wh detachable ? Just bring a spare. Takes 30 seconds to change out. I used to do this with my Shimano EP801. Much better than running an extender, as the bike was lighter. Lifting an extra 3kgs, when the bike already weighed 24kgs, would have been a massive PITA.
I carried the 4kg Shimano Battery in my pack, on a 120km ride over the Snowy Mountains. Swapped at about the 70km mark. I had all my overnight gear in there as well. Put my water bottles on the bike, instead of the bladder.Yes, just carry the 800wh "range extender" around in your backpack when you are on a big loop![]()

You don't need 1600 wHrs on every ride. Just a long ones where you have no access to electricity. The Avinox system charges extremely quick. So you can charge at stops on the ride, or at the bike park. You could definitely put a 4kg battery in a backpack (if you even have such a large/long backpack), but then you have to leave 'fun' at home ...
I ride really remote technical trails. Ive ridden with an extra battery in my pack many times. I prefer the extra battery on the bike. When you ride a trail like this, it's just easier when the extra battery is on the bike. You don't need 1600 wHrs on every ride. Just a long ones where you have no access to electricity. When venturing into remote alpine regions. I have about 8kgs in my pack. It certainly doesn't detract from the fun.
If that's what you find. We are all different. I just prefered having my bike as light as possible. Much easier if you need to lift the bike. Lighter if you had to hike it. And the bike felt lighter underneath me when trying to climb over things. When you ride a trail like this, it's just easier when the extra battery is on the bike.
That is a beautiful landscape, but I've been staring at that photo for 5min and still don't see the trail you referenced! That is some hard core knar man!I ride really remote technical trails. I was standing at the top and looking down. The snow path is the trail with switchbacks. You dont wanna crash there. Here's another photo. lol. That is a beautiful landscape, but I've been staring at that photo for 5min and still don't see the trail you referenced! That is some hard core knar man!![]()
I wonder if this will fit on the Pivot Ampd??Velduro has the port in the middle that is more protected but depending on the shock it may be an issue
