Note : The Avinox FP700 Battery uses 10* 19.4A Ampace 50480 cells rather than the more traditional 21700's.

And one with some upgrades.

Where’s the fugly Alien face hugger type range extender, in the DJI bin?! 🤣

That's the bit on the left where it says "compatability" with the RS600.

I guess it does give you a huge chunk of extender range and several people in the old days used to strap their second battery to the frame rather than backpack it, so it's similar to that without having to swap things over. Guess for some who are doing huge rides it at least gives another option. Think the smaller one/less ugly one/is coming later this year.

Yes, the standard bottle type ones are quite inoffensive, so that will be better.

I can’t help but think people would be losing their s5*t if Bosch or anybody else had come up with that monstrosity. 😂

I heard that the guy who came up with several of the older Bosch controllers and displays was given a job with Avinox and tasked with creating the range extender.

We need the market to deliver those plug in dropper posts!

EDIT: Looks like the post would connect to the port on the display, is that "Port B"? If plugged into "Port A" on the motor it would spin up when you activate your dropper? HA

On the M2/ M2S motors, the connector has been modified on production units to be a 4 port connector instead of the original 2 port connector. Presumably when you connect a dropper you'd use a Y cable and 2 ports (red/black wires) will be for the mech and the other two for the dropper - so the current sensing would only be on the mech circuit. Or the other option and the only M1 option, would be to feed from the display for the dropper. @Astro66 will be testing the cables once he has them (ordered) to confirm this is the case.

For plug in droppers, there's the KS E-LEV - think it was @Suns_PSD who mentioned this a couple of weeks back.

At time of writing, haven't actually seen any for sale with the correct connectors for the Avinox though.

@Zimmerframe
Thanks for collating all this useful information 👍

508W/168W Chargers
Round or Square Plug
👍

As the RS600 batteries have Square (oblong) sockets, hopefully when sold as range extenders they will come with appropriate use and recharge adapters for both versions of charger cable and bike socket.

Discussed elsewhere (somewhere ?) - 2 pins power, and 2 pins CAN Bus.

Haven't seen anything about adapters. I guess they could argue that you could charge the main battery and the extender at the same time with two different chargers.

For them to change and have two plugs would make you think there's something also different about the BMS/battery layout which requires a different charger.fornthrbteo battery types.

Maybe one @Rob Rides EMTB could ask about if he gets time ?

Chargers have the same ratings as each other with different connectors. Fingers crossed the physical charger is the same, just with a different cable.
Hopefully simple plug/cable adapters would be all that is needed to use either charger, as originally supplied with your choice of bike.
🤞

How the batteries Stack Up
(I think!)

FS600 : 6X Matrix : 3Px10S (Shorter Casing)

RS800 : 8X Matrix : 4Px10S
RS600 : 6X Matrix : 3Px10S (Same Length Casing)
