Anyone had the impact protection under the downtube come off

Had a bit of an over the bars this morning and the steering block must have moved on the steerer. Anyway the crown has impacted the rubber and ripped it off. Thinking I may be able to just glue it back on or maybe double sided tape, thoughts?
