Any alternatives to the Bosch handlebar controller with kiox?

Damn thing drives me nuts. I can’t stand the ergonomics of it. My Shimano with straight inline was simple, and easy. Up and down modes only. I understand there’s more functions with the Bosch, but IMO, the design with dropper and brakes kinda blows. Idk, maybe I’m too finicky! Any other options?

No, just stop staring at it ;)

Stick it in EMTB or EMTB-Lite and never touch it again except to switch it on or off.

I don’t have emtb lite. It’s a 2021 and everything software is up to date. I have eco, tour, emtb, turbo. Emtb is too much most of the time.

If you don't have EMTB-Lite either your software isn't up to date or you have chosen not to have it. If EMTB is too much it sounds like Lite would be perfect for you.

Does the emtb lite mode show up as that or does it just say your? I'm having the update and the kiox retro display fitted was just wondering whether it would show up on the kiox as I know the purion doesnt change apperally

Hmm, my kiox is showing up to date software. I’m wondering how to get it? Does it replace “Tour?”

I think it's an "opt-in" upgrade, like the 85Nm upgrade. You'll need to get a dealer to do it for you.

My 2020 Rail 9.7 has eco, trail, emtb and turbo. I use emtb 99% of the time. It is a bit much sometimes, but I got used to it and love this mode. Is their an update for the 2020 model for emtb lite or is this just a 2021 mode?

It's available from Trek dealers for the Gen 4 Performance CX so you just need to get your dealer to do the update.

Never heard of eMTB Lite except for the new mode available on new Moustache bikes, but that is not available to any other manufacturers.
As far as I know there is no alternative to the Kiox controller. I don't have a problem with it. I just use it.
I had the Shimano Levers under the handlebar, but prefer the buttons on the top so the seat controller can go below.
Like I say, I don't have problems with it. Occasionally when things get wild and hectic I push the wrong button and look at the kiox and it says something like "Do you really want to reset your Kms, delete all software and format your motor?"
YES-Maybe-Delay-Ask later, where I am not sure what to select... or how. But this doesn't happen often.

Trek has had eMTB lite since around the time of the 85nm upgrade.

I think you're talking about "MAGIC TOUR" mode. Trek's closest equivalent is eMTB-lite.

Hello, I don't know how you have your controls placed on your bar, but I've moved mine down so it sits facing me. Like this.

Ride Tour then. That's what I use most of the time. I tried Turbo the other day and I almost went flying off a hill! Lol so much torque.

Hi , interested in this post as personally I feel all bosch control button option are gash compared to the super simple control buttons on my spesh levo .
I prefer purion to kiox and the new generation switch controller does not look any better !
So Ideally I would like the purion or kiox small display on frame with simple button control switch (like specialised )next to my grip.
Preferably with audible bleeps (1 for eco ,2 for tour ,3 for emtb 4 for turbo) so you can flick through power modes without looking at the screen .Also would like blank screen option for night rides .
Please can someone make this or modify a specialized controller to work on Bosch motor

From memory, I think @Aitrui is the only person's who's done this so far and written anything about it. They've not been on for 6 months though so unlikely you'll get any more information from them :

This is the only reason why I don't buy a bike with Bosh motor. That remote control looks totally trash and the new one it's 10 times worse. What's going on with the designers in Bosh and with the people that approved it🤦‍♂️

It would be sick if someone had a 3d printer and could modify the display carrier excuse the nasty photoshop
