2027 Orbea Wild LT Released - Avinox Powered

Sounds accurate to me. He didn’t want to share info with others. He didn’t bother to get to know his bike. Both true statements.

Not really, he’d have to mess about with VPNs and other stuff, besides what people can do with their bikes over here doesn’t mean you can do the same in the US.

Have a read of this thread in the de-restriction section (where the forum owner would prefer the chat) which I think answers your question. Unless Orbea have written firmware for Class 3 (a US classification as far as I know) then it will be difficult to change it.

The eapc (electric assist pedal cycle) laws say that an ebike motor must stop providing any assistance when the bike is travelling over 25kph, if it doesnt do this then it's classed as a motor cycle and needs insurance, license, regular safety checks, proper protective gear etc and can only be ridden where motorcycles are allowed to ride.

The ebike itself can travel over 25kph,but the motor can't provide any assist
Really glad we don’t have such restrictions here, thanks for the info.

Thanks for the info. That would explain any difficulty in him trying to change to class 3 if it isn’t available in his VPN, but it doesn’t explain whether or not it is available in his VPN. So, if I understand you correctly, the 28 mph is based on the VPN location? I think that is what remains to be seen and I was hoping for some more concrete answers. Not a deal breaker, I am purchasing the bike either way.

I’ll just sit tight and wait for others to get the bike in their hands and let us know. If the option is there, great, if not, no big deal. I care more about how it rides on the trail than getting to the trail.

Is there not already a thread in the derestriction forum related to the VPN trick? All the answers you seek will be there.

You emoji pooped my earlier question, but why can't you just use a VPN to change the speed? Achieves the same thing, no?
If every Orbea RS-tuned M2S in the entire world is limited to 20 mph/Class 1 (max); where do you vpn to get 28 mph?

Out of respect for the mods you gotta see the answers in another thread area. Or dm me.
It’s because the Orbea RS version of the motor has a unique firmware different from anything else on the market, so it very well may not even have the modes that can be unlocked via the traditional methods.

This is likely the case, but hoping they allow 28 mph in countries it is legal, which would be great for commuting to the trail heads.

Now I feel bad as it was kinda my fault for bringing up the VPN thing again.

From my understanding the bikes will be programmed for the country it’ll be sent to.
If 28mph is legal where you live, it’ll be the limit.

And the bike will always apply the most restrictive limit either from your location or from the motor software.

I suggest that we form an Opinion Preservation Society. Can we create a members only sub forum called Everything I Don't Ride or not made in my country Is wrong: It could be a nice walled garden where every new technology can be declared dead on arrival before anyone has to test it.

Starting with, The Department of Preemptive Dismissal. Admission requires the ability to explain why every competing brand is junk, preferably before it's released. Every thread must begin with , My opinion or brand is best, and all contrary opinions are politely escorted back over the wall along with a divisive emoji.
