For handling, e-bikes are heavy, so the MX setup brings back a bit of agility and makes the bike feel more playful. But overall, a full 29er is faster and more balanced for trail/enduro riding, especially on analog bikes. World Cup enduro racers all went back to full 29ers after experimenting with mullet setups a few years ago.
Now that e-bike weights are starting to come down a bit, we might see more and more full-power e-bikes running 29” front and rear, just like mid-power bikes already do.
Interesting POV / input about full 29er vs Mx.
I feel myself lost between the 2 after long tests back to back, on my amflow.
Full 29er feels great, even on very steep section since the rear wheel feels more 'planted'.
And the MX feels more agile, but has worst rollever.
I also wonder why DH racers tend to opt for mx (except for not being hurt by the wheel) if rollover on full 29er is better (and it is, as far as i understand) ?
