2026 Giant Reign E+ Megathread

the new E-system 2.0 can work on 36v and 48v systems.
48v system will be only for high performance bikes as the new Reign, future Trance, etc.
New Stance or Explore can work with old integrated energy packs...500, 625 or 800wh. These two bikes use the new e-system 2.0, same as Reign.
Talon uses also e-system 2.0, with 36v battery, but diferent format and size, just for this bike 430wh.

New Syncdrive Pro 3X is still 36V.

The Syncdrive Pro 3 48V motor on the Reign E+ is for sure 100Nm capable, might just be an efficiency preference to not burn that small 560wh too quickly and get complaints from customers that are not tuning down the power with the app for better range.

I was told the new bike that will release between the Reign E+ and the Stance E+ will not be under the Trance name, it'll be a new name which is making sense if the bike is leaning more on the all mountain/enduro side.
Any idea on when that new bike will be unveiled?

I built up one of the new (2026) Stance Es for our shop today. I have to say it's a really nice bike and will suit a lot of people I reckon. The one I built was black/walnut colour scheme (sort of desert khaki with black highlights) and it looks really good. It'd be interesting to ride one and compare the 100nm motor to my 85nm Reign E (2022 model). I know it doesn't have Maestro suspension and is a more "budget" bike than the Reign or Stance but it definitely doesn't come across as low rent in the flesh, I was impressed.

I have a 2021 Stance, and these look like quite the upgrade/update, with the price to match...

My first 2 ebikes were giant E-reign. Very good bikes ! The geo and rear suspension was ultra plush.
Let Giant release an alu frame (E-Reign, ofc), an avinox motor (or equivalent, rear Hall sensor plz), integrated slim battery and i could buy one !

Hi all,I haven`t had ebike since my levo and its almost 3 years. But now I have reign e+2 coming. But questions. As I have telum shock on my claymore and wondering if going coil also on reign. Do someone know what is shocks eylet measurement? Many thanks.

I answer to myself. No it can not take 29 rear wheel. I have had this bike now 2 weeks and it is exellent bike. Geo is exellent and it fits like glove to me. Basic deore gear was also fine but I did upgrade to xt di2 with 9-45. Exellent also. Some upgrades today like Mrp lift v2 damper and upgraded to performance elite rear shock. It was only adding compression knob, little bit tricky though with small pieces. With lift v2 damper front suspension is much calmer and stays on ground. To me battery is fine as I use lots of different power modes and ride here and there without power. With just basic wheels and tires it rolls fine.

Though I have to say my enduro race bike weights about 18.5kg so 24kg bike isn’t like super anchor.

I did use vht tape on rear of the battery to solve rattling sounds. Also I don’t understand why Giant doesn’t give any proper manual with torque values to the bolts, though there’s some on bolts but not all. All in all super happy with the bike, agile it is and it exellent racers training tool and fun bike. Hopefully there will be someday support from Garmin to have power meter readings as now my edge doesn’t recognise it.

My E + 1 is 22.9kg with flat pedals.
I got several upgrades, carbon wheels, carbon cranks, carbon sadle, X0 AXS groupset....
The TRP brakes will stay, they work axesome.

As you said, this bike geometry and system is very good, coming fron Trance Elite, this bike is like a mini downhill bike. Even heavier than my Trance it feels easier to jump and manage.

On Giant's official website, page 9 of the "EnergyPak Instruction Manual_V4"
there is 48v EnergyPak Smart 790Wh battery.
Is it will be used in the new 2026 Reign E model? or it's already being used in other models?

I guess it might be the new Trance. One of my riding friends has already ridden it and said it’s pretty good. I have some concept images, but I can’t share them. I only know it has 120Nm torque and an 800Wh battery, and the weight is something to look forward to.

What about peak power? Do you know the travel and if it's mullet or full 29er?

Good catch, I remember people catching information about the new 800wh in the manual too when the 22 Reign E+/Trance E+ were released with the 625/750 batteries.

Great news that Giant are getting back to offering full power/full battery ebikes and if you have the option to run the 560wh, everyone will be happy.

I'd heard that the new Trance was going to be 810wh but it could be 790. Hopefully the 48v bikes will have the option to run either battery like the last Reign and Trance. I have 625 and 800 for my 2022 Reign and it gives good flexibility.
I'm holding out to see what the new Trance offers. I fancy something lighter than my current bike (which was heavy to start with and I've made even worse with a coil shock etc)! If it were to be around 21-22kg and had decent geometry (around 64° head angle) I'd be happy to sacrifice the extra travel and 38 fork on the Reign and save some weight. More power and torque are also not really on my priority list but are almost inevitable in the current market. I can't help thinking that brands that aren't using the DJI stuff need to focus on making the power and torque that they have available more usable rather than trying to compete directly with Avinox (which they probably aren't going to be able to do). Clever software like the pending Bosch traction control update and things like smart shift would be way more appealing to me than crazy power and torque figures. Even some tuneable over run on the new Yamaha would be nice.
