Straight answer: Bosch actually does publish this one - the Gen 5 CX motor mounting screws are spec'd to 30Nm, and they should go in dry, no grease or loctite. So scratch what I said about it being purely down to the frame manufacturer; Bosch has a number for the motor-to-frame hardware itself.

That said, for Transition specifically, it's still worth checking if there's a sticker near the motor mount or a note in the frame's owner's manual/service doc confirming the same figure applies to the Regulator CX's mount design - bolt length and thread engagement can still vary by frame, even if the torque spec comes from Bosch. If you want it in writing for your exact frame, Transition's customer support is quick to reply.

Worth flagging generally: on a different bike (a Cube, not a Transition) one owner found manufacturer-quoted torque looked low for how much the motor could still move, and got advised not to go much tighter than spec despite that "We always try to re-install to the bike manufacturers torque specifications, but 12Nm seems way too low to stop a motor moving around!"

That's a different frame and mount, so treat it as "don't assume tighter is safer" rather than a number to borrow - 30Nm dry is the figure to work with here.

Bosch motor mounting screws are spec'd to be torqued to 30NM. When installing these, Bosch recommends installing WITHOUT grease or loctite.

30Nm, no grease, no threadlocker - good, that's the number nailed down and straight from the horse's mouth. Nice one for chasing Transition directly and reporting back; that's exactly the sort of first-hand answer that helps the next person who searches this.

Two things worth adding while it's fresh:
• The "no grease, no loctite" bit matters as much as the number. A greased thread changes the friction, so the same 30Nm reading actually clamps tighter than intended - you'd risk over-stressing the mount. Dry is what the spec assumes, so keep it dry.

• Worth a re-check after your first few rides. Motor mount bolts are notorious for taking an initial settle, and a fresh build especially - drop them back to 30Nm once and they usually stay put after that.
