Part of me is relieved, part of me disappointed. I have recently purchased a second 504Wh battery, and I would have had some buyers regret had Specialized released a bigger one . . . but I would have also been excited for the prospect of more storage, especially if a new battery was backwards compatible with the 2018 Levo.

You're probably right on the 2020 speculation. Keep an ear to the ground, hey? Let us know if you find out more. (y)

It's ok Tori, I would have made you a more than fair offer for the 504 battery.:ROFLMAO:

I’ll be disappointed if this is true, as I’ve held off getting the Levo awaiting news. If it’s no different I could have been riding weeks ago lol.

I feel for you - I bought my Levo a few weeks back after contemplating to wait or not and ultimately decided I didn't want to miss out on the summer riding. It's like anything else based on technology, 6 months after you buy it it's obsolete and if you always waiting for the next best thing you'll never actually buy anything.

My advice, throw a dice and go with whatever it tells you! :sneaky:

This is why I keep asking for sources every time someone claims they've got news. Lots of conjecture but no facts.

Yep, understand your frustration as I very nearly did the same.

I found out this morning,
What did you find out this morning? That there is no updates? Confirmation either way would help a lot of people out.

I wish bike manufacturers would handle model year changes a bit better. Automotive industry seems to have this figured out a bit better. For instance Porsche just announced details on MY'19 Macan changes which are likely to appear next late spring. Quite a far ways off but it lets consumers make a real decision on if they can wait for perceived improvements in the change or to buy now and have the item right away or even buy a competitors offering.

It might not be such a big deal but having tasted the nectar of emtb I want one now!

I too am waiting before i jump see what levos like my other choice is merida big e 800

top secret hush hush, when is the embargo lifted ?
He’s not allowed to say the date the embargo is lifted. Doesn’t make things easier. Would be nice If he could just say whether or not it’s worth waiting though. ?

Problem is that Specialized don't wont anything leaked, and if you work in the industry and get found leaking any info the Big S are not going to be pleased with you.

There are a few people on the Forum who know whats coming but cant say because they will cut bridges.

Its probably going to be a better bike, but the current one is very good. If you can pick up a deal just get the current one, we are probably waiting till 2020 before bikes come out that will have you instantly upgrading!

If If I reveal anything I would be in violation of my dealer agreement. Not worth losing my best selling line of Emtbs so someone can make a better buying decision. I am sorry

I will probably continue to wait as i like my regular bikes as it is. That pivot shuttle was really nice but only 30 or 40 miles and 3k feet is not gonna work, especially for the big money.

Well my LBS is doing demos of the 2019 levos from 7th to 20th August. So an announcement can’t be too far away. This is where I got the info of same battery and same motor from.
Otherwise he would of said there’s something new, as he’d want to get me on a demo.

Exciting times! One of my good friends is just about to purchase her first EMTB and she's just tried out a FSR Comp Carbon (2018). There are very few 2018's left in Australia . . . and her LBS indicated that the new models wouldn't be dropping here until around December. She's very likely just to go for the first available bike, knowing she can ride now rather than wait and wait and wait . . .

I’d be surprised if it’s december? I’ve been told September for Nz and it’s the same supply chain?

Could be right . . . maybe the shop just had a model (Comp Carbon) they wanted to move? I'll try to get some more info and let her know.

You’ll be able to buy them September.
December seems a bit far fetched

Talked to a Specialized dealer today, they are going to be released in November and December (different dates for different models). I don't know why they're releasing them all at different rates, I NEED that Levo FSR, looking forward to my first ebike!
