Cush core are a huge PITA to put on. Just get Eddy Current and save the massive tube weight of the Cush C

the 155 miranda cranks didnt last at all.
Cushcore are only difficult to install when the installer doesn't read the installation instructions.
The benefits outweigh the weight imo

Hi, totally agree. Cushcore + Magic Mary = weight of EC and you get the extra benefit of rim protection and damping. Just find the correct techniqe and it's easy.

Just got a 2019 Levo... Base model. Upgrading... Wanted the aluminum frame.

I ordered a Fox 36 Factory and a Float Dps. The problem is I messed up ordering the size 210x55. Just realized that the Rockshox that's on the bike is 210x52.5

The size won't fit will it? 210x55

Thanks
Yes it will fit but your rear travel will increase to 157mm

I know 210x55 will fit Levo 2019&2020 but is there any warranty issues with Specialized when using 55mm stroke? The manual clearly says 160mm travel frok as maximum, but doesn't say anything about maximum shox travel/stroke ...

If you put on a 55mm stroke coil then yes it theoretically gives you ~156mm of travel but every coil shock has a decent bumper to stop getting to a hard stop so you never really get to use all this travel. In reality it makes bugger all difference to the available travel and it would be unlikely that it would void warranty imo.

Just to share an information. There is a simple way to gain 2,5mm from the stock shock. If you open the air chamber you’ll find a blue plastic disk installed onto the shaft. It’s a sort of travel limit. If you remove it you wil got a full 55mm shock stroke.

No other side effects with the shock after doing this ? Does it go beyond the 52.5mm marker when compressed, or does it not work like that with the spacer ?

The shaft in the picture mounted instead of the shock is exactly 214,5mm e2e, i.e. 216mm shock, 3mm offset bushing flip chip high position.

Of course I’ve checked both end. The shaft can be shortened in 1,25mm step (one turn) up to 150mm e2e and also in the position everything is fine.
I made the shaft to check the compression curve of shock vs the travel of the rear wheel.

With the offset bush up the top you may find that the bolt will keep loosening itself off. It is designed to have a centre mount bush that can move within the outer sleeve so you can torque up the bolt.
I done a similar thing on my 2020 Kenevo and that’s what I found kept happening. The offset bush on the bottom is fine though.

Also check the available travel as you may find 63mm stroke is too much for the Levo unless you install a Kenevo shock/seat stay link.

What is a Kenevo shock/seat stay link?

Or use an eccentric spacer to the top, in both cases the main trouble is in conpression
The link come too closest to the frame, imagine a carbon frame and sone dirt or little rocks on the link

Sorry I forget it’s name, the bit that attaches to the frame, seat stay and shock link.
That is longer on the Kenevo as is the shock link(the u shape but attached to the shock)

Sorry to dust off an old thread, for those that have done it and lived with it for a few months, are there any downsides to running a 210x55 shock as opposed to 210x52.5? A few extra mm travel in theory seems like a good thing. I'm assuming there are no clearance issues and you don't need to move the flip chip?

Running Ohlins 210 x 55 for 4 months on 2019 medium alloy and loving it .
