That pretty much describes my type of riding, although having looked at the specs it doesn't really interest me, out of all the heavier bikes available I'm glad I went for the Whyte.
After having the previous Shimano Jam2, I was hoping they were going release a new lightweight bike with EP8 motor, I got fed up with waiting in the end, looking at that I'm glad I didn't wait.
I've got one, used it six or seven times, very basic in terms of how it connects, no capacity info displayed on the Shimano display, just the lights on the battery itself, unless I'm doing something wrong...
Top tip though, use it before the built in battery discharges completely, if that...
The Fazua system is quite a bit different to the normal Shimano or Bosch systems, more natural but a lot less power. My E8000 is set to 50Nm on trail so roughly the same torque as the Fazua, however it still feels more powerful, you don't get the same type of assistance on the Fazua.
My Fazua...
I've removed the long metal rail that the TEC battery slides on to, I can't remember if there were any screws or blanks in the two fixing holes before fitting originally... ?
Can anyone confirm either way, thanks.
T.E.C Pack for sale in classifieds if anyone is interested.
Just weighed my medium aluminium jam2, without pedals, mudguards etc it's approximately 21.7kg...
I can't see why they couldn't get that down to 21kg, slightly lighter motor, slimmer frame etc.
Yeah but that's expensive carbon... I'm hoping they might come up with a less expensive aluminium version ?
Although I've just looked at the new non electric Jam and that's 15.8kg so that only leaves 4.2kg for motor, battery and larger downtube. It'll probably be similar to my current E8000...
I'm hoping it might be a lighter slimmer bike with small internal battery and optional range extender.
Something in between an Orbea Rise and current heavyweight bikes... 20kg... ?
I'm referring to the Shimano powered one not the Bosch.
Not sure if this is potentially an issue or not but, coming home today I had two bars left on the internal battery, had one hill left so thought I'd have a bit of boost, 3/4 of the way up and without warning it just turned off completely (the assistance) and went straight to the red flashing...
That's a plus. Not sure what the warranty period is, can't see it on their website...
I have got a tec pack, just wanted something smaller and neater though.
No problem, I think there are threads on this forum discussing this issue. It will depend on which frame size you have I think... And maybe some modification to the TEC pack mounting rail.
