Watching a couple of vids on the new 2022 focus jam. Totally new looking bike, hopefully the e version won’t be too far off either.
hope Rob can get hold of one soon....?

I'm hoping it might be a lighter slimmer bike with small internal battery and optional range extender.

Something in between an Orbea Rise and current heavyweight bikes... 20kg... ?

I'm referring to the Shimano powered one not the Bosch.

My Shimano e8000 powered 2019 Large size CF framed Jam2 9.6 NINE is already 20.4kg. (378Wr battery).

Yeah but that's expensive carbon... I'm hoping they might come up with a less expensive aluminium version ?

Although I've just looked at the new non electric Jam and that's 15.8kg so that only leaves 4.2kg for motor, battery and larger downtube. It'll probably be similar to my current E8000 Jam2 at 22kg.

Wow, both of your bikes are far lighter than my Bosch 625 Jam... must be nice having a 20kg ebike !
It only matters when I have to lift the bloody thing! The reason mine is light is down to two things; first is the small frame battery (378Whr), second is the carbon fibre frame , which knocks off a kilo. Adding the second battery adds 2.2kg. The bike is still only 22.6kg, but that TEC pack is an ugly f***er!

I'd be very surprised if a CF frame is 1 kilo lighter than the aluminium one .........
I was mildly surprised too, but that is what the dealer told me. There was nothing on the Focus website.
But it does account for the light weight of my bike, which I can't argue with.

Just weighed my medium aluminium jam2, without pedals, mudguards etc it's approximately 21.7kg...

I can't see why they couldn't get that down to 21kg, slightly lighter motor, slimmer frame etc.
