Heading to Ainsa next week - anyone from here want to meet up?

Hey - a bit of a long shot, but as the title says - I'm heading to Ainsa next week. I think I have an ebike lined up. Downloaded the Z Trails app, but would be great to ride with someone who knows the area. I live in Vancouver/Canada and ride the trails around here like the North Shore and...

Mullet setup on the 2022 Altitude Powerplay

I see there are other threads talking about a mullet setup, but thought I'd create a separate one specifically for the 2022 Altitude Powerplay. Some background: My first ebike was a Decoy, and initially I was apprehensive about that big old 29 on the front, but grew to like it a lot. The Decoy...

    Happy family

Setup the Core MX 2 today. Love everything about the bike, but oh boy those SRAM R brakes are a pile of crap. Friggin death trap on such a heavy bike. Those will be pulled off, and a few more minor adjustments to the cockpit and the bike will be good to go.

Speculation on the new ebike being announced on Tuesday?

My bet, a lighter ebike with smaller battery. With delivery time frame of October.

Shimano battery issues with EP8 motor

I've already posted this on the Commencal Meta SX Power thread, but wondered if other bikes with the Shimano EP8 motor and battery have seen a similar problem. Basically, the battery level drops from around 30% to 2% extremely quickly. I also have a YT Decoy with Shimano E8000 motor. These are...

December deliveries pushed back to March

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but my wife's Core 2 scheduled for December delivery has now been pushed back to March. I was speaking with YT today. I'm not really surprised to be honest with all the supply chain issues. Hopefully we will actually get it in March in time for Spring. We're...

First time night riding - quite enjoyed it!

Watched plenty of videos of lights (including Rob's) and riding at night and decided to take the plunge. Glad I did. Rains a lot here in the winter, so nice now to have an option to get out whenever we do get a spot of nice weather (even if it's dark/after work). Definitely took my time on...

New Meta SX Power mullet announced

https://news.commencal.com/news/New-META-SX-META-POWER-SX/2533.html Not sure if the sizing charts have been updated correctly though. They say the following: "A shorter 10mm reach, a straightened steerer angle and extended (10mm) chain stays", but if you take a look at the sizing of this years...

Tire liner (Cushcore) saved me from a very long walk home this evening

I was about 10km up the mountain away from the car this evening when I noticed I had a flat, and then further inspection revealed a crack rim. I had a CO2 cartridge with me, so popped in some air, but it didn't hold. Without Cushcore I'd have had a long walk back to the car, and probably...

Mullet/29 on the front of a Meta SX 27 Power?

Anyone converted the Meta Power SX 27 to a mullet with a 29 at the front? Would a new fork be required?

    Gloves with side protection

There are plenty of gloves out there with knuckle protection, but anyone know of gloves with knuckle protection and side protection? If I fall, I tend to hit the side of my hand, not the knuckles. Although I definitely want knuckle protection as well, as one time it did indeed save my knuckles...

Anyone else been ripped off by Galfer?

I ordered some Galfer rotors 3 months ago. First of all they charged me $60 to ship a package that should cost $30 to ship. I presumed they were adding on taxes and customs fees, but no, I was also charged taxes and custom fees when the package arrived. Then things went even further downhill...

Any of your friends/partners tried your Decoy?

I'd just about given up trying to get my wife on a mountain bike, but we were away this week and she expressed an interest in renting an ebike. Within the first few cranks of the pedals I saw a big grin emerge on her face. We rode all day (just on greens and paved bike trails) with a few stops...

    Ebikes in XS size?

I rented an ebike for my wife today in Whistler. It was a Liv/Giant Intrigue E+ in XS size. She didn't think it would be a big deal, but of course she loved it and we went all over Whistler on paved bike trails and green trails around Lost Lake. Which manufacturers make mountain ebikes in XS...

    My Meta Leaning on Stuff

Took the Meta out for the first ride today. Adjusted cockpit, handlebars, etc on easier trails for an hour to get used to the bike. Then headed for the blacks. No better place for a first ride than Whistler. It's definitely a "big" medium (well bigger than the Decoy), but I like it a lot...

Anyone in Canada ordered parts from the US site?

I tried to order some spacers today, but see the Canadian site doesn't have many parts available for sale. I tried the main European site, and the spacers are available, but no shipping to Canada. They also have the battery available... Found the US site, and the spacers are available there as...

Looks like a Commencal container has arrived in Canada

How do I know? Because my Meta SX was one of the bikes on that container :) First of all my bike will be sent to Whistler to be Ride Wrapped. As soon as I get it back I'll report on my thoughts. Works out well as I'll also be in Whistler for a week. Originally didn't think it would arrive in time.

Running larger 223mm Galfer with Saint brakes?

Anyone running Saint BL-M820 brakes with the Galfer 223mm rotors? If so, are there specific adapters I also need to get, or are these adapters that come with the rotors sufficient? https://galferusa.com/product/shimano-all-saint-br-m820-oversize-rotor-kit-bkit2 My goal is to put these larger...

How to squeeze a little more juice out of the battery

I purchased a used SM-PCE02 PC interface, connected it to the Decoy and the laptop, and changed the Light setting to ‘Off’. Usually my battery would die when it hit 9%. This afternoon I started with the battery at 80% to be sure I’d get close to draining it, and sure enough the battery went...

    SM-PCE02 Compatible with Decoy?

I borrowed a SM-PCE02, but it looks like it's not compatible with the Decoy. The Windows E-Tube app loads ok, but only a few changes are enabled. For example, I can update the firmware, but that's about it. If I try and change any settings I get an error "Settings could not be applied". Anyone...
