The market will work it out. EMTB is becoming a category of its own.

    Lightweight bike for lighter rider?

Ok I can really help you. I hope I don’t reply to late….. I currently own three EMTBs and recently sold my fourth one a great Mondraker crafty RR . I now own two Crestlines ; one a 160/160 Olins/ Bosch race and 180/170 fox DJI bad ass steed. But I also have the Pivot Shuttle SL 150/135 Fatzua...

SRAM's new 2023 Drivetrain allows full power shifts

Now after owning the new transmission; I am underwhelmed. I own EMTBs with both SRAM electronic systems and one with XTR. I would take the XXO electric system first with the new shifter module the the XTR system ( the simplicity is worth something) then last the new transmission. I never...

    AXS, old vs new?

I own both and I would not spend retail for the new stuff. At first I liked it but after two months the shifting needs adjustment. It also shifts slow compared to the original.

    Carbon vs Alloy

I have two carbon and one alloy bike. Other than the carbon is maybe a kilo lighter they are interchangeable. I like both. If you can save some money on the Levo going alloy I would do it

    Crestline Bikes

I just bought one and wow what a bike. The Santa Cruz bike is bad ass. However the tie breaker is all the adjustments and config options. I had it setup for 150/160 travel and in a couple of weeks I will be hitting some bike parks and it will be setup to 170/180. I also was able to add 5mm to...

New Pinion integrated gearbox and motor (MGU)

I feel like the time when most of the great sports cars went dual clutch (paddle shifting) something about a manual transmission on a race track… we know that the twin clutch cars were faster but took shifting and dumbed it down. Now to EMTBs. I get it that this is progress but I like the work...

Full Power vers Mid Power : different perspective

Well good point, it was more about handling characteristics and feel. Everyone knows full power ( race ) motor is superior in higher powers . Thus the car/ motorcycle reference

Full Power vers Mid Power : different perspective

BTY- both loops metrics was done in eco mode for >85% of the loop. A couple of steep uphills were in blue for Pivot and EMTB mode on Crestline. In addition the Pivot has the latest firmware update that is fantastic. I was going to sale this bike (Pivot) but now I am keeping it and selling my...

Who bought an e bike for more fitness? More speed?

EMTB definitely created more riding opportunities and fun. I can at 65 keep up with other riders and that makes it fun for everyone.

Who bought an e bike for more fitness? More speed?

Yes, I was a slow rock garden type rider. Now I am averaging much higher speeds. I still like slow and technical but I ride it more like a trials motorcycle. So much fun…..

Who bought an e bike for more fitness? More speed?

I bought one because I was recovering from a serious medical condition. I was 63 and thought all my good days were in the past. Two years later and I am down 54lbs (+/- 25kg) and feeling like I am 40 years old again. I ride now for fun and the more technical the better…. I truly believe EMTBs...

What Crank Lengths are you using?

I am 6’ and with E-bikes the perfect efficiency ( perfect saddle height) is way less important because of the motor help. This was one thing that took me the longest to get use to. Run seat lower and it helps in many areas. I have no Issa with saddle height going to 150/155 cranks

What Crank Lengths are you using?

Yes on my Stump Jumper I have 170s and it works well. Regarding an EMTB I have been experimenting with shorter cranks and because of the motor the torque leverage is less important IMO. The benefits are numerous with the ability to have a lower bottom bracket and reduced rock strikes. Plus’s it...
