Yes. Thats exactly what I did. Have ordered one but they didn't have any in stock, it will take them 2 weeks to get it. I rang a 99 bikes in West Gosford, NSW and they said they had them in stock but couldn't sell them yet.

At this point it’s just like smart phone market - every year something “cooler, better, faster” and the old model value just crashes. This is not sustainable.
 
The non sustainable aspect of the mountain bike industry has been the astronomical pricing. This year seems to be a general reevaluation as competitive pricing has entered the arena, thanks to innovation and fresh approach.

I learned that the secret is to just not care about having the old one.
Even when I replace my mobile phone only when the old one fails me because I depend on it greatly, I always choose the outgoing model that's heavily discounted. Friends think I'm weird for this.

Same here. I usually have my wife's old phone and she only upgrades to the outgoing model. I chuck a new battery in it, which is about to get a whole lot easier, and use it until I kill it.
