The original CEF50 did not have enough clearance for a coil. There are second and third versions of the frame now that handle a coil but the original batch did not. The CEF55 is a different suspension design so it would not be a direct comparision.

Ergon comes in multiple "sizes"/diameters. There are also SQLabs grips which offer a different solution.
