I have been visiting Tucson ALOT lately to care for my mother. I typically fly with my regular bike and ride a few spots. My favorite is the 50 year trailhead network. I was thinking last time I visited that I'd enjoy bringing the E-Bike, especially in the heat, and checking out more stuff.

Then I started to wonder about if E-Biking there is an issue. I am blessed that where I live, there is no issue and everyone rides everything. Am I going to get hassled riding the 50 year network or Mt. Lemmon stuff?

I know some spots are still "not allowed, but everyone is on them and it's not enforced." I am hoping Tucson is that or better.

PS I only am interested in the more advanced trails, not the green / blue networks.

50 year and Honeybee are Arizona Trust land and it is eMTB legal, with a $20 a year permit. The black stuff on Mt. Lemon is US Forest Service.

I take it Forest service bans EMTB? Where I live, they do not.

Thanks for the reply!

The current rules allow each USFS district to decide and it is changing all the time as districts make up their own minds. So it is best to check and see what the current status is.
