Our time-share is on Wapato Point in Manson. It's the third deepest lake in the U.S. It's a beautiful area. We got lucky that there wasn't any wildfire smoke in the vicinity this year. In August, 2023, the smoke was so bad you wouldn't have been able to see the other side of the lake in your photo.
They're on Lakeshore Dr, a stone's throw from Wapato Point. We try to get up there every summer.

You may already know this but Blueberry Hills Farm nearby has excellent food and the drive through North Cascades National Park is pretty epic. Least visited park in the contiguous 48, so the drive can be "spirited". ;)

Blueberry Farms is a must-visit whenever we're in town.

I was once cautioned to be less "spirited" by a Washington State Patrolman during a motorcycle ride across the pass. I thanked him for only giving me a verbal warning.

3 months to the day since my last ride out with my good friend @The Hodge. I’m in limbo at present waiting for a hospital referral on an injured shoulder. A great ride out from Neil’s back door, a 30 mile loop through stunning West Northumberland countryside. Very quiet C roads, bridleways and farm tracks. Great to be out in Neil’s company again. I throughly enjoyed it. IMG_1823.webpIMG_1824.webpIMG_1825.webpIMG_1826.webpIMG_1827.webpIMG_1830.webp
The last pic was an accidental pocket shot but quite cool. IMG_1836.webpIMG_1835.webpIMG_1834.webp
Ride stats, shoulder held up well 👍

Thoroughly enjoyed being out in your company again too Wayne ..
The ride surprised me especially the bits I hadnt ridden before and just goes to show that when you think you've done it all from your door ..take another look .
Id say a good 30% of what we rode today was all new and another 20% I'd not been on in years ..

My stats in terms of mileage were way out due to not starting the app straight away and managing to switch off halfway round before I noticed ( it auto-filled)..so 30miles with 2,700ft was a good effort !😁
Catch up again soon mate 👍🏻

Super! Quick question, is that kind of water overflow construction or a amphitheater? 🤔

World War 2 anti-aircraft gun battery. One of several that protected Coventry UK from German bombers. Coventry was a major target in the war as many of the car factories had switched production to tanks etc for the war effort. Was later used to house prisoners of war and now houses sheep! ………………….and a heron looking for his dinner

When you come across WWll relics you're supposed to do a video report ..its the rules as per the Hodgson / Proctor Pill box documentary in Wooler 2025 ..

I couldn’t hope to compete with that classic of modern cinema. Anyway, the sheep refused to be interviewed . We are playing Spain then.

😂
Yeah ..Id said to Wayne prior to the game that I hoped it was Spain and not France when we beat the Argies ...by half time Id changed my mind 🤔
IMO, Spain vs England would be the perfect match (besides …some members in here wouldn’t be so grumpy,😉)

Gonna watch the match after my ride this morning …I’ll record it just in case.

GRRRRR...curse those effing MTB Gods ...
Ask anyone who I regularly ride with and they will tell you that on every ride my back -pack is loaded for bear ..everything you can possibly think of is in there "just in case' ..right down to a field surgeons table and saw in case I need to lose a limb ..why then did I listen to that whisper in my ear telling me that as it was a hot/ humid day to lose a load of weight ..?
It was only meant to be a quick couple of hours anyway ...
I havent had a trail puncture for at least 3 years since Torridon ..and yeah you guessed it today was the day I left behind the spare tube in case the tubeless set up let me down ..I did bring a mini pump which didnt do the trick ..I didnt even get a full run at Skydive before having to revert to the walk of shame back to the car 🫣
I did take a few " messing around with the camera " pics ..before it all went tits up ..
Lesson learnt ..never again will I leave home without full kit..

First 50 years are the best ,then she knows what you are thinking before your thinking it. Best wishes , what colour was the Brides outfit at the bottom ?.

Still bright white! It was remarkably dry on the wedding day. The weather turned though for the rest of the week, whilst England was basking in glorious sunshine 🌞 😆
