2027 Orbea Wild LT Released - Avinox Powered

Hi all,

Who are familiar with ORBEA and their special stem with internal cables routing?

I should received my WILD LT TEAM soon.

With the HMI controler which use a cable, we still have to use the headset with internal cable routing...

BUT i want to use my stem and normal spacers, so i saw in the doc that a cap ( rep 13 on the pocture ) can be put instead of the original one, especially to keep the internal cable routing but with a standar stem.

Could someone can confirm this and also if this cap is supply with the bike

Thanks!!!

2 other motors you haven’t ridden but present their ride characteristics as facts. start riding others bikes before you present stuff about them as facts ffs

unlike you, i have. both feel extremely sluggish when you accelerate them.

Right you are, I am just going off of general bike reviews that I have read. Like you I've never ridden the Maxon S, but it sounds like I might prefer a more bike like feel anyways.

Although I do pick up my own Trek with the HP60 this Friday that I ordered last weekend so I'll report back on that one.

Ignore any reports about 750w max power. Thats in the default Orbea modes.

1300w is available, with the RS tune as the base tune, so all the benefits of their excellent tune, with full power if you create your own modes (up to 5 user configureable modes)
After riding the RS Wild, would you choose this bike over the Crestline 181.2? Trying to make a decision and still have mixed feelings.

Completely biased view here, but the crestline is the most versatile emtb out there. You’re also dealing and supporting Troydon who is a rad dude who rips on a bike. I’ve had personal text convos with him, he has also hooked me up. You won’t get that with any other bike brand.

Cresty can be 200/200, 180/180, 170/160, 160/160.
There’s a DH pro racing the emtb frame right now, so that should say something.
Fully adjustable chainstay dropouts and headset. So any chainstay length you want pretty much. You can also run 600, 700, 800 battery. All of which you can’t do on orbea (except the headset adj).

The only downside if you’re lanky legged is seat tube insertion. I’m 5’10 and have a 180 slammed (collar to frame) and I could not go even 5mm more, so it doesn’t affect me in any way. So zero downside to this bike for me.

I’m seeing more and more guys running 200/200 dual crown on the cresty and it looks so fun. I will eventually try that out. I’m running 180/180 now and it’s a dream bike. That said, the orbea is beautiful and can’t wait to hear more reviews on it.

Rob didn't love the balance of the Wild because he was on an XL and CS length is only 448mm.
On the other hand, he has stated how much he enjoys his Crestie, with the longer chainstay adjustments.

I think the Crestie is a super rad bike for sure. More so for a rider on an XL however.

Yeah the Cresty's are sick and I should have pulled the trigger on a frame earlier this year. There are some of the team edition complete bikes available but it's $2k more than the M10 I'm looking at. Supposedly Orbea is opening MyO orders on the 6th so we'll see how long until those bikes are delivered but the Cresty is still tempting me ha!

Hey ! The headset cover for standard stems is not provided with the bike.

You can find it with the XC60 reference through the Orbea website.

You’ll still have the HMI cable going through it, but you’ll have to route it externally to the stem and bars.

Thanks for your reply!!

I thought the cap ( 13 ) replace the original one ( 12) allowed to put a "normal" stem, with the internal cable routing??

Thanks for the feedback, my buddy has an RH2 181.2 and I’ve ridden it. Love the bike, and I thought that was my 100% pick until the orbea was released. Just wanted more feedback from more people than just going on my feeling. I’d like to stay as close to 50lbs on a build as possible, I know that is pretty easy with the L Wild. I’m 6’1” so I’d be an RH3 Crestline. The seat post drop on my current bike doesn’t slam very low, I knew that was also something to know with crestline. Part of why I started to explore the Wild as a possible option.

Orbea confirmed the following for me -
The fox suspension is 2027
Builds with the orbea wheels have the DT swiss 350 hybrid deg df rear hub.

I was asking this on the m-team.

I've never ridden the Diretissima but I do have 2 other sets of TS brakes. Frankly, they are art work, but not that good. My Dominion A4s are the best brakes I've had and are now on their 3rd bike.
Riding a Diretissima now for almost 7 years ... never rode something better (Shimano, SRAM, Formula) when testing other bikes.
But no Dominons until today (all bikes at home run on mineral oil so DOT brakes where never an option)

Which TS brakes do you have?

I can assure you that if you try Hayes Dominion A4 brakes, you'll never want any other brakes. I thought the same thing when I tried my previous Hope Tech 3 e4s, but after having the Hayes Dominions, I can say that I haven't tried anything like them. They are very powerful, easily modulated, and comfortable to use.

If the Mavens don't deliver what I expect from them, I'll mount some purple Dominion A4s on my purple Wild LT.

I have a set of Piccola HDs and Piccolas, obviously both are for more weight sensitive applications.

The issue is bite point, trickiness to bleed but most importantly no matter what I do, they always slowly seep fluid from seemingly every orifice over time slowly losing their bite point. I think it's because power is average at best and I squeeze the crap out of them.

You certainly have to overfill them if you want them to be taut as the issue is that they have a very small window where they bite. I mean one drop of lost brake fluid is literally 10mm at the end of the lever, so I have this cance

I do enjoy the HD's on my 28# trail bike, but that thing has XC tires and those brakes are still barely enough power imo.

My rh3 is 50.5lbs with dh rear, First gen sidekick which is heavier. Could be lighter with some changes. It’s also 180/180 with a coil. I have 700 battery which is a big weight difference at least when I held both in my hand. But yeah just dm if any questions! Don’t want to derail the thread anymore. Would be interesting to see frame weight differences between the orbea and cresty. I’d think orbea is lighter, but their claimed weight over 50lb doesn’t make much sense. Bummer you can’t do 700 on the orbea.

Both the Crestie and Wild have class leading lightweight frames.

That said, the Crestie has VPP, not a 4 bar, so saves a few grams there.
The Crestie will always have a shorter dropper, that can represent a significant weight difference alone, but obviously that's a place I'd always take the extra weight.
Then the Wild has a Canbus to operate the dropper, shifter, etc. That adds weight.

So, I think spec for spec the Crestie will always be slightly lighter. But it's so little, not certain that I'd worry about it.

Also, I have the lightest full power e-bike with proper DH parts that I've seen, and I have a Bosch, so I'm not convinced they are getting lighter.

Sorry but Hope Tech3 is no good reference when it comes to stopping power … tried them once, absolut awful.

Nice bike! I’m also looking to do an M20 and swap some parts from my current 2024 Wild as well as a few other upgrades.

No pedals included in that weight?
