I understand the frustration but to me it's just an unavoidable part of the design. T-Type 12 speed spacing is super tight, and adding a bunch of chainstay growth for the high pivot adds more complexity.

in my experience, if the derailleur is setup at sag, then the shifting is good. to me that's what matters and stand-shifting-perfection isn't so important.

I do think they could communicate the sagged-setup thing better. some of this I only learned from forums and talking to mechanics and AI chatbots.

hmmm I would expect best results at whatever sag you are running. I forget their suggestion, usually it's high around 35%

the lower part of the travel has a lot of rearward growth, so being at 10 vs 35% could make a significant difference

The chainstay growth on the e- dreadnought isn't very dramatic. It's less than the dreadnought v2, and a lot less than the supernought.
I suspect there's another basic issue at play here.

I'm just going to throw it out there - I know it's a new bike, but shit can happen during transportation.

1) Is there any visual bents on the cage? Both X0 and GX rear mech uses aluminum cage

2) Is there any bent (even minor) cogs on the cassette between your gears?

Visually no. I have 3 other bikes + Forbidden which all have T-type Transmission. XO, XX AND GX. I compared them visually and they it looked normal. Also, not sure if I mentioned but when I was at the shop dropping off the bike, there was another Forbidden Dreadnought T1 build on the floor. Before I left, I also took a test ride on that bike to see if it had same issue and guess what, it did. That NEW Forbidden bike on the floor also had issue on gear 7th to 8th and also 10th to 11th shift. Mine also had 7th to 8th gear issue initially along with 10th to 11th. After re aligning the derailleur to sram/forbidden specs, 7th to 8th issue disappeared but 10th to 11th shift also remains.

Sounds like an issue with the way the shop is setting them up then.
Not sure what to say, my s3 e-dread shifts as well, if not better, than the dozens of other bikes I've had with the gx/x0 transmission
. And it's not picky about setup.

echoing what NTM95 said, maybe it is the shop? Time to reinstall yourself!

I do wonder how assembled the bike is when they reach the local bike store. @jbrown15 any ideas?

I also tried to set but no luck. Tried it many times using specs and no luck. I installed t type on my 3 other bikes before and never had this issue.

another thought - can you try fitting your other rear wheel with t-type cassette into your e-Dread and see if it still happens? hahah I'm a home mechanic so this peaks my interest. I would even go as far as using the rear mech on your other bikes on the e-dread rear triangle.

I was thinking of switching out the derailleur to see but too much work so I dropped it off at the shop last Saturday. Bike is currently at the shop and supposedly Sram rep is coming by tomorrow to take a look. Waiting to hear what Sram says. I am sure it's something simple or like you said, maybe it's the shop on how they put the bike together. One thing I should have done is completely take off the derailleur and put it on from the beginning but it's new bike so I decided to let the bike shop figure it out.

Exactly.
This is not some design flaw or quirk of some kind. There is something wrong there.

Just thought I'd drop in and say I'm still loving my Dread-E. Did a whole bunch of riding in Bentonville, and dialed the suspension a bit every day...at some point, I was just tinkering, so I stopped. Rides great...no problem with maneuverability.

Dropping in to say I just put in my pre-order for a dreadnaught-e T2 in S2 from Fanatik! So excited, can't wait to get the bike! I hope they ship it to me soon!
