Velduro Rogue UK Owners

My current dropper is a OneUp 210 but thinking of going AXS so its either a 200 or 225, what length are you guys using, can I go longer and get it down the tube more or is it too high?? I may need to sit on one to see before dropping £500.

Try wax and see if it goes away... The idler is an extra piece of toothed metal introduced into the system over a conventional design. I've noticed as the wax wears off I get some noise when hard pedalling but once replied, it's gone
Update on this!

Was the rubbish DJI chainring. Swapped it out today noise gone. Using a 34T Praxis ring. Looking at the teeth on the DJI ring their profile is all over the place! This was effectively causing chain suck which then under load was forcing the chain harder on to the teeth and the noise was the vibration of the chain trying to release from the teeth at the bottom of the ring.

The frame looks satin so could go either way with Invisiframe finish. Matt of Gloss, vote now :)

I'm 186 on a Velduro L and my AXS 200 is 1.5cm from full inserted.
The 225 would not work for me as fully inserted it would be 1 cm too high, plus on a L it may not fully insert (300mm vs 310.7mm of the AXS), on a XL frame it would fully insert as it has 325mm insertion.

You cannot directly compare a mechanical 210 with AXS 200 because the AXS has a 4 cm where the valve activation part sits, so fully inserted it would be 4cm + 20cm travel = 24cm. The one up probably is only 1-1.5 cm at the collar, so my guess but you can measure it, would be 1.5cm + 21 cm= 22.5cm. So both fully inserted the AXS will be higher.

The calculator can give you a good idea: https://www.sram.com/en/rockshox/series/reverb-axs/calculator

Thanks for all the info :) I do understand there is a diffence with AXS due to the body control body. Your height info rules out the 225 so looks like its going to be a 200mm (y)(y)

Just drop Smashpot in any Fox 38 and it'll be the most plush fork out there.
YES! as I have, everyone that rode it this weekend was amazed by it ... as they were by the EXT Storia E and the bike as a whole.

Any you lads running a 36 tooth chain ring, I know it's rated for 34 but thinking cassette life.

I'll get back to you - will be fitting one when I have time in the next few days.. it is sat waiting right next to the bike!

but if frame says max 34T, if you run anything larger won't potentially catch the chainstay?
Yip, it could catch the idler or the chain stay hence why I am asking if anyone else had tried it. Lots of people mod bikes out of guidelines without issue so just looking at what other people have tried and failed or been sucessful with.

Podium is quite heavy so I'd imagine it'll work to your advantage keeping the front end down and more stable.
Never used Fox components and never will, it 'is' just my opinion but always thought they were overpriced and not as smooth as other options.
I've always run full 29 on every bike I've had, so can't comment on a mullet setup. I've just gone with the general consensus that if you're tall (6'+) 29 is best. Works for me!
The only issue with the Rogue is that it's virtually impossible to fit a rear mudguard with a 29 rear if that's a consideration for you.
Thanks, what tyres and sizes are you running with your 29 setup. I normally run 2.5 DHR or Assegai on rear dependent on what I am doing on my Levo but if I buy a 29er set not sure what tyres will foul if its close or with mud. Would like to here from anyone running a 29er setup on the Rouge (y)

I’ll be honest I’ve mod my bikes always but not outside of manufacturer sizing for things like chainrings, forks and shocks, if max fork is say 170mm I don’t then run a 180mm as an example.

Like many I was relying on buying the 12A charger to be able to fully utilise my velduro.
However there appears to be a global shortage.
I found Ebike, Bikes, Parts & Accessories for Sale | Ridewill showing them as stock so i ordered 10th April after collecting my bike. Of course they weren't available and on further questioning they had no eta 🤬.
However out the blue I got a ups shipping mail last night.
Its not been cheap, but i believe uk stock isn't due till late june.
Prices below if anyone else is looking and finds them in the eu.

Charger 209€ £182 (less Italian vat)
Postage 24€ £21
Cc non sterling £6 (should have used my debit card)
UK vat and import £46 (vat about £36, so i guess £10 import fee)
Ups processing fee £15 (robbing bastids!)
Plus a uk kettle lead if you don't have a one.
Comes to £270.

I can justify it with man maths though as i saved £300 on the e-storia by purchasing via ace cycles.
Thanks for the headsup, I did ordered it from them last Friday and just got it today (Italy to Switzerland).

Is there a list of 29inch tyres that are suitable for the rogue, I have a 29 x 2.5 Albert gravity on the back planing to fit, have seen a post on FB which looks a bit too close for comfort, post says 2.5 but not sure what brand tyre. It seams different brands all have different profiles, Schwalbe don’t seam to make any of the radials in less than 2.5. I realise Velduro state 2.4 recommended but have also seen 2.6 max stated. Figured the 2.5 would be all good but now not so sure.

Frame is mat, the mat Invisiframe makes it look satin with some mat accents where the film doesn’t cover the frame.
Can’t imagine that gloss will look nice.

The second mat black bike turned satin with the mat Invisiframe. The self healing properties of the film are great and it seems to help shed the mud, making cleaning the bike a breeze.

Has anybody had experience with mat RideWrap for comparison?

My friend is on 29‘ Schwalbe Shredda 2.5 on the back, Bike size M.
Just be aware here is rarely muddy.

For anyone who's looking at getting a Rogue and stuck in the minefield of options on other bikes, here's my review as seen posted on Facebook

Also, this not a chatgpt or any other ai post. This is my opinion after 360 solid miles so far

Il start by saying I'm not been asked to say this, nor am I being paid. I'm just that stoked on the bike i wanna share my thoughts and hopefully may add the velduro to your list

Ordered as a frame set direct from Velduro UK and built using all my own preffered and tested components

Frame - size large set up mullet. 180f 170r travel

Seatstays in 27.5 and shock in progressive mode

If I were to describe my bike in one word I'd say Invisible (yes, it's a weird word to use but youl understand why) - there's no worries at all, no concerns whilst riding, no thoughts on whether the bike can take whats in front of it or what's that noise moments. Its tight, it's tough, you don't need to think about it, leaving me to concentrate on enjoying the ride in full confidence

For those that don't like the word invisible, here's a few other words to describe it and why

Fast - no matter how much I demand from the bike, it is happy to give more. It feels limitless. It loves to go hard and changes direction well no matter the speed. The faster you go, the more the bike gives you

Agile - corners are easy, it doesn't get held up anywhere, point the bike and goes exactly where you want it if set up right

Wheelpath - the rear moves out of the way of anything you throw in front of it, gives you a controlled magic carpet feel. Tech lines are turned into flow lines helping you go faster and brake less which in turn gives the suspension no restrictions enabling them to do their job

Grip - it struggles to let go, composed in off camber sections with the right tyres and suspension settings. The harder you ride and load the bike up the more it clings on to the terrain

Noise - it's near on silent when set up with wireless dropper and gears. The chain dampener eliminates chain slap, the frame does a good job of keeping cables still and with the m2s, the motor rattle is gone

Suspension - Ohlins rxf38 m2 fork with smashpot v2 coil kit and ttx22 m2 shock with cane creek progressive spring...
Bottomless feel from big hits to flat landings. The hydraulic bottom out from the smashpot v2 paired with the ohlins damper is just pure magic. The progressive spring in the rear twins to the ohlins shock like it was made for it. Ground hugging where you want it and support to push off when you need for hard riding and jumps

The brakes - Radic Kaha v3, the strongest and lightest feeling brakes I've had the pleasure of running. Cnc machined, precision parts and attention to detail is on par if not nicer than hope. I'm no racing snake, I'm 100kg of brute aggressive idiot and they stop me exactly when I tell them to. They don't fade, they are silent. They just work. Another invisible component to add to this amazing experience when riding

Motor and battery - Avinox speaks for itself I won't go into it tbh because it's not the standout feature of the bike. It is amazing and very well integrated. It's quiet and powerful but dial back the settings for a better experience of balancing power and range. There's many reviews out there so watch them

I ride anything from rooty, rocky trails, fast bikeparks to jumps, drops and everything in between. There's nothing this bike doesn't like. It's effortless to ride, such a joy and gives me nothing but big smiles all day long. Jumps are my go to and on paper this bike shouldn't jump that well, in reality it loves them. It's so stable in the air, easy to get off the ground and loves to be sideways (I'm still learning that bit)

The bike as a whole (using all the same components I've run on my last bike, my Orbea wild) is hands down night and day a better bike and the best bike I've owned to date. The last time I was this confident on a bike was my old Haibike tank. The drawback to that bike was its looks. The Velduro is beautiful, and sleek. Catches all the attention on the trails and starts conversations

The bike feels like a new generation of bike. I've owned many ebikes and they all felt somewhat the same, some like they were dated, wooden, limited by design and tech. The Velduro feels new, redesigned and fresh.

If I was to put the Orbea wild and the Velduro back to back I'd say the Velduro easily takes it. The Orbea is a fantastic bike but I always wondered every ride if it was going to break (4 frames in under 2 years). The Velduro I don't even think about it. It's solid, it's built well, It's compliant, it's perfect.

A solid 9.5/10 for me. The poor design for a charge port cover let's it down from a perfect 10, and that's OK for me.

I am one happy owner

If you're here for user experiences, or on the fence about buying one, I'd say do it, you only live once

Life's too short to ride mediocre bikes

Buy the frame and do a build with your favourite and trusted components. Or buy one of the full builds if youre not fussed what you run, either way..... You won't be disappointed....

If you're interested and made it this far down, have a look at my YouTube channel to see how the bike is doing and what it's been through. I understand we all have different tastes in ride choice, but here's mine

To the owners of the rogue, what's your thoughts? Are you having the same experience as me or a completely different one?

Cheers for the glowing review Danny, been watching your vids on youtube too. I'm frothing to get my frameset....Gutted the arrival keeps getting pushed back, but good things come to those that wait!
My build is an almost exact copy of ex WC DH racer, and now shop owner, Nigel Page's, as it was seeing his bike on a trip to the Golfie back in March that made me wanna retire my very battered 2023 Kenevo expert! Gonna be weird going back to single crown forks after 4 years on Boxxers and Dorados. Im tempted to hold on to the Dorados for a bit, just in case Velduro announce compatibility......

Nice one mate, you're gunna love it. Tbh I don't think a dh fork is needed provided the single crown is set up properly

It rips mate. Everywhere. Are you building it yourself or getting a shop to do it?

I'm putting a last gen ZEB ultimate on the front, so yeah, should rip! Building it myself. Got a pile of parts ready to go!
