Thought I'd start a thread for all the UK Velduro Rogue owners to discuss and share anything from opinions, reviews, tricks and tips, share your build photos, ride clips and general discussion. Could also maybe arrange ride meets to get together and shred this awesome bike we've all chosen as top of our list of bikes to buy

I'm hoping that @Velduro UK can be part of the thread and answer any questions that owners may have

Are you happy with yours? I know I'm blown away by mine!!

Good idea.

It’s an amazing bike really pleased with mine. Only thing I’ve noticed is some “chain noise”running Shimano running gear.

Would be good to get some other input on chain length “currently 124 links” and maybe the option of 36T chain ring.

Nice build 🔥, I'm running a kmc flat top chain on t-type drive train and it's mint. I've found using squirt chain wax quietens the drive train down significantly. My bike is very quiet now

Seams to only be when I force down hard. It’s a strange noise deffo from the idler area.

Try wax and see if it goes away... The idler is an extra piece of toothed metal introduced into the system over a conventional design. I've noticed as the wax wears off I get some noise when hard pedalling but once replied, it's gone

Stunning……..a beast of a bike 👌

Thanks for setting this up Danny 👍

Moving forward we will use this thread for all UK related updates, and if you have any UK specific questions please post them here and we will try our best to respond in due course.

Please also post your experience of the Rogue, plus any accompanying photos. We'd love to hear how everyone is getting on and I'm sure it would be useful for any perspective buyers.

Our next shipment (originally expected mid May) has sadly been delayed due to the situation in the middle east backing up our supply chain for OEM components and overwhelming our frame production facility due to increased global demand for the Rogue, plus an increased shipping time due to Suez Canal restrictions.
Subsequently we are now expecting a landed date of June 20th with customer and dealer delivery for late June.

Our order was placed back in January, so this gives you some idea of the lead times right now.

Finally, the next batch of bikes/framesets is almost sold out so please get your orders in asap to avoid disappointment or search our store locator to see what your nearest shop has available.

All the best,

Velduro UK

Loving this bike, first e-bike so getting used to the extra heft!
Also enjoying exploring New Zealand, was always told it looks like Scotland, it’s flipping identical….😆
Gonna be ideal for getting to the local trails by bike rather than always in the van. So easy to cruise along the road 😁
Also, to anyone possibly considering a 36 tooth chainring, I never bothered with the avinox one and fitted this Renthal, no issues at all.

Yes, I mounted the 180 mm fork. I’m running a mullet wheel setup, but I left the rear of the linkage set to 29. I absolutely love how the bike feels, but so far I haven’t done any super technical climbs to see if the front wheel lifts.

As I only had a 180mm fork to fit, difficult to say if a 170mm would be better or worse. Front end definitely likes to get airborne on the steep climbs but I suspect that's my lack of skill as I'd normally push up and now i can attempt riding up!

For me the motor is to get me to the top for more downs. With 180mm front I haven't struggled on anything tech yet but the front end definately feels lighter

Like many I was relying on buying the 12A charger to be able to fully utilise my velduro.
However there appears to be a global shortage.
I found Ebike, Bikes, Parts & Accessories for Sale | Ridewill showing them as stock so i ordered 10th April after collecting my bike. Of course they weren't available and on further questioning they had no eta 🤬.
However out the blue I got a ups shipping mail last night.
Its not been cheap, but i believe uk stock isn't due till late june.
Prices below if anyone else is looking and finds them in the eu.

Charger 209€ £182 (less Italian vat)
Postage 24€ £21
Cc non sterling £6 (should have used my debit card)
UK vat and import £46 (vat about £36, so i guess £10 import fee)
Ups processing fee £15 (robbing bastids!)
Plus a uk kettle lead if you don't have a one.
Comes to £270.

I can justify it with man maths though as i saved £300 on the e-storia by purchasing via ace cycles.

That's some dedication to charge faster mate. I still can't believe we didn't get 12a with the bike tbh given the price but hey ho it is what it is

At least you've found a charger 🔥

Is the frame still creaking, or have they fixed it? Or is it still too early to say?

What would you say are the biggest cons of the frame/bike if you had to rate it?

So far, my frame is silent and as for cons, the only con I have is the fact I have a job that doesn't involve riding it. The bike is amazing. I can't get out enough on it.

The geo is spot on for my preference. It smashes through tech lines like they are just a suggestion and it jumps like nothing else I've had.

The stats lean more towards technical riding but I've found it jumps and handles drops a dream

The bike is also fast pointing downhill. Faster than my Orbea wild and it's definately the frame as I've transferred every single component over from my wild so the only change is the frame. It holds its speed well and is very predictable

In mullet mode, the bike is super agile. At no point did I ever think the rear end is too short. It's direct, playful, stable at speed and super composed all rolled into one package

Some users report a noisy idler but mine is silent. It's worth noting I'm running the sram t-type 34t chainring, xo t-type cassette and a kmc flat top chain. It's crisp, smooth and quiet

Sizing is bang on for me, I'm 5'11" and went with a large. Running mullet wheels with 180 travel up front with a coil converted fork and 170 in the rear with a coil shock set in progressive mode.

My only con (if you can call it a con) is the charge port sucks and is very 2018 (just a shaped rubber bung) but that's me being very picky.

All in all, 10/10. @Velduro UK smashed it on their first emtb

Very helpful, thank you!
I’m 5'11" and between M and L. Coming from a Gen 3 Levo, on paper the Velduro M is closer to my S4 Levo, while the L seems a tad long. I’m going to test ride the L next week, so that should give me a better idea.

What shock are you running?

Ohlins coil with a cane creek progressive spring

Is the frame still creaking, or have they fixed it? Or is it still too early to say?

What would you say are the biggest cons of the frame/bike if you had to rate it?
Pros
1. Extremely powerful. The M2S motor hauls my 105kg almost up anything. One half turn on the cranks when riding flat stuff and you're off like a rocket.
2. For an e-bike, I reckon it's pretty light. I haven't weighed mine, but it's easy enough to pick up and carry (I live in the lake district (UK) and we do a lot of hike a bike).
3. Very agile. I'm 6' 5" (ish) on an XL and full 29er. Copes with tight, twisty turns with ease. I was worried about the weight being an issue (this is my first eeb) but you simply just don't notice it. When descending, everything feels natural and balanced.
4. Makes anyone who hasn't got one jealous... :ROFLMAO: She's definitely a looker.
5. So far build quality is excellent but of course only time will tell. While I've not had to do any work yet, it looks to be an easy bike to work on, no stupid, awkward designs or proprietary tools required.
6. Excellent seatpost insertion depth.

Cons
1. Gotta watch out for cable rattle. Not a big issue if the cables are run properly through the inner guides and you take care to then insulate them in foam at the top of the head tube before they exit. The design where the cables exit on the non-drive side (above the motor) could be improved, bit of janky design.
2. Agree with Danny, the rubber charging port cover is a pretty poor design and I suspect will fail over time. Difficult to understand why they chose this option vs. a hard plastic, magnetic flap as found on other bikes.
3. Plastic motor guard is made of cheese.. I've already smashed one, so it's definitely worth factoring in some protection in this area if you ride rocky stuff.
3. Front end gets a bit floaty going up steep stuff, but that's more my lack of riding technique I reckon.

Overall this bike is an absolute weapon, it'll do everything you want and more! You will not regret investing in one! FYI I run 180mm zebs and an EXT E-Storia set for 170mm travel.

Couldn't agree with this any more 👌👌👌

Just put a deposit on a frame/shock only yesterday and hopefully going to see it in July. ;)
Podium or 38? I have a 38 on my Levo and currently feel its a little harsh with everthing open on a 2021. New 38 has improvement but tempted for a Podium?
Also, I miss my previous 29er Gen 2 ability to roll over everthing compaired to mullet Gen 3. At 6' I'm tempted to order a 29" wheel set. Any opinions with current owners?

I'm happy with mullet and run ohlins suspension full coil. Can't comment on fox as Ive never got on with it

The bike is a monster truck in tech lines

Yeah can't wait, I think the podium (forgiving the issues) will give the magic carpet feel like the coil effect you are getting.

Yep, I think you will be blown away by the bike and with the ability to order frame only, you can spec to your exact preference :)

Podium is quite heavy so I'd imagine it'll work to your advantage keeping the front end down and more stable.
Never used Fox components and never will, it 'is' just my opinion but always thought they were overpriced and not as smooth as other options.
I've always run full 29 on every bike I've had, so can't comment on a mullet setup. I've just gone with the general consensus that if you're tall (6'+) 29 is best. Works for me!
The only issue with the Rogue is that it's virtually impossible to fit a rear mudguard with a 29 rear if that's a consideration for you.

Cheers, I promised myseld next bike was going to be a 29er so will start with that. I ride in mucky scotland so will keep that in mind, some bikes benift from mud guards and other don't. What the mud build up around the sus on a Rouge so far?? Worst case senario I need a mullet set up for winter.

No real problems with mud. To be fair unless you're going to run one of those hideous guards from mudhugger, ain't nothing gonna stop it getting everywhere. I just have a high pressure, manual pump garden spray i keep in the car and give the bike a quick blast after a mucky ride to get the worst of it off.

Agreed, and no offence, I hate those mud guards, had a little one for the Levo to keep the clag off the linkage only in the worst conditions but not going to worry me. Going to order a 12 amp charger the now so hopefully get it by the time I get the bike 😁
