Bosch Gen 5 Rumour - More Power updates coming!

i just did mine and i had to uninstal and install the app again.

I tried on my iPad and still no luck. Guess I will have to wait the 24 hours. I am hoping it comes live this afternoon since I have been out of town and almost a week of no riding
 
From a different thread, this info was good. I don’t know if it’s required to delete the app and reinstall but the key was going into the components and installing an update there for the extra torque.


For those not seeing any change. Delete and reinstall flow app, then go to components, drive unit and you should see the next phase (20 second) update to get the actual adjustment installed…faff, my kid could vibe code something better than this, but at least it works

If you have installed firmware update successfully and waiting for banner (24h window) - you just need to uninstall and install Flow app again and banner should pop up

Ill have to try this. I am at 5 uninstall and reinstalls. Not seeing any new updates when I check, but I have not done it through the components.

When you say you don’t see any new updates, are you referring to the main update? This is actually a 2 step update process. First is the main software then you have to go into the drive unit and do another little update there. On my bike, the new update showed up right away. Didn’t take any special stuff. It was the second step that is eluding most people because it isn’t intuitive.

I’m wondering if Pivot has not approved this update. I’d be pretty frustrated by that if they are trying to promote the new bike. Mine is only 3 months old. Currently on a 2025 Shuttle AM

I don't think that's "law" yet in Germany or EU... the 600% to 15KPH one of among a few "recommendations" ZIV [German Bicycle Industry] is pushing regulators towards.

Bosch stated in their recent Performance 2.0 press camp their motors are complaint with "current" and "future" regulations and since the CEO of Bosch is part of the ZIV group... he may have some insight to pending regulation or what they are pushing for.

I was able to install the main update first thing this morning. I am wondering if anyone has screenshots of how to do the drive unit update? I am thinking Pivot has not approved the update yet which is kind of frustrating. I need to call pivot, but they still haven't responded to my previous message, which was completely unrelated
 
Anyone who has completed the update, can you check the software version on the motor when you go into the individual components?

I think it is much more likely the update has simply not yet rolled out in your area. I'm not seeing it yet on either my Gen 5 or Gen 4 bikes which is typical, normally don't get them for 1 or 2 days later here in Germany! I can't believe in my case that the manufacturer would block the update for the Gen 4 bike since max. power will remain at 85NM

Sorry for being excited about a free update for our bikes. I am happy with the existing power, but can you blame us for wanting the new update?

Do you get joy from dissing strangers on the internet?

Maybe so. I find it interesting that the main software update was released, but not the power. The update I installed very clearly stated it was the 120nm update. Oh well

I believe the update popped up on my main page of the Flow app. If it wasn’t there, I had to click on the settings icon in the upper right hand corner of the screen.

Thanks for that! I managed to get that update banner on the main screen after updating the app this morning. Installed it, and no change in the ability to adjust the power. Guess I will have to be patient. Have you looked into customizing the settings and are actually able to move it to 120 nm?

It is not necessary to uninstall the Flow app. It is enough to clear the cache and app data for the Flow application.

I did see that option. I didn’t actually adjust it but it did say it was possible.

I do not see a place to clear cache on an iphone. Seems to be uninstalling/reinstalling is the process for this.

On another note, has anyone been able to connect their garmin to the bike? I quickly tried through the typical Garmin connection process, but all it showed was lights to connect to.

What about extended boost? That’s still missing..
 

Saw this on facebook. I definitely do not have that banner in the motor settings. I also noticed it said to connect all the components before doing the initial update. I probably did not have my mini controller connected at that time. Ill wait til later to see if it works, but deleting and reinstalling the app has been done more than I would like to admit

Oh it’s already mentioned in the anouncement today that it will be released for customization in mid-2026
