I know the thread has moved on from what kilham5 originally intended, but if anyone was guilty of early thread creep, it was him and it's leg to the best thread on here.

It mixes bikes and life. Bikes and wife. Bikes and strife.

It's the one place people don't argue or disagree. It's light hearted. It's fun. It's interesting. It's educational. It's amusing. It's entertaining.

All the crap in-between keeps the thread alive until the next interesting bike pic comes along.

So last night didn't go as planned.
My beautifully cleaned and lubed bike was wheeled out of the cave, switched on and off i went. Tried to change gear, nothing. took battery out (of the mech), put it back in, green lights, no shifting. queue lots of swearing.
Message to the group explaining my dilemma:
Someone is selling one off their new bike. Sorted, I think. (although now I'm going to be a good few £££ out of pocket)
Now drive up to the meeting point, as I was running late.
Test the mech, fine. Put it on the bike, test again. nothing. connect it to the app, do the updates, starts to work.
Fly off at top speed down a bridle way, the sun gets in my eyes, BOOM, next I know I'm laying on the floor thinking WTF just happened and all sorts of pain. Luckily, only bruises and scrapes.
It was one of those nights that I should not have ridden.
Forgot to put on my knee pads, didn't take my proper Garmin with crash detection, and I could have been in the wilds until a dog walker found me this morning.
Finished the night with half a pizza.

Now sitting at work, thinking the pain killers are wearing off.

Warning .. has feck all to do with emtbs unless you have an ant problem.

I kept getting ants sneaking into my kitchen and wondering around the worktops. Time of year ...

Since I put a hive frame on the worktop for casual honey scoffing, they've gone ! Seems ants don't like honey (real honey, not the sugar crap you buy in the shop that pretends to be honey).

Even less to do with cycling and no tile pics im afraid. Well we have been plagued with Slaters all over the house for decades . Put vents in loft for another reason no more Woodlice or very few these past 6 months.

Did some upgrades to my cube 144, didnt like the old magura brakes so I put on new mavens and new wheels and tires, so far its been awesome. Old dropper post stopped working so put on some on-sale fox dropper that I got for cheap.

Haha yeah its a weird saddle, I was having so much problems down there but managed to fix it all with that, now Im kinda glued to it, never gonna ride anything else.

Best Guinness tale i heard just yesterday. Skipper friend of mine fishing out of Cork many moons ago , he was at a pub it was next to a auction mart . Farmer comes in with his cow orders two pints of Guinness he drinks it and cow drinks his out of a glass as well. Friend asked barmaid WTF is that about. She said well he's selling it so it will be getting slaughtered after that.
