Atherton S170.E Dyf-E bike coming soon...

Mixed messages about the Avinox motor. I understand the M2S to have max 150Nm and 1500 peak power. Why has this bike got a lower powered motor the M2 .
So is it only the top end AMflows that have the MK2s power unit. ?

I was at Atherton Bikes on Wednesday, prior to 4 days at Dyfi. Matt showed me around and did a sizing, and I demoed an A200 on the Friday morning.
I got to do a quick 5 min' carpark test on the S.170E....Soooo much power, and then Matt showed me the "hidden" extra power mode :D

Interesting. What size did you go for out of interest and how tall are you?

I flew over from Sweden for Dyfi, but just doing the sizing as I was there, for a possible future purchase of a 170 or 200, pedaly type. On that I was a 480 regular. (height 1810, saddle height 835, arm span 1862)
I already have a Pole Voima E-MTB which is plenty capable for my needs. It'd have been be rude not to ride the S.170E when offered

Did you demo the A170 and A200?

So did they show you what is under that black cover? Range Extender?

I've had a phone call today saying my bikes been delayed by a week, it sounds like the motors have just been released from Customs.
They confirmed that the cable routing has been re-done so there is one gromet one each side of the head tube that can both accept two cables making the routing neater for euro/uk routing.
The derailleur power wire will run inside the chainstay rather than pop out midway up (I was a bit worried that thin cable might get snagged) but the electric geared bikes will still have the blank for mechanical gears.
They have spares of the motor cover.
Now I just need to resist buying any more upgrades in that extra week, I did get a set of the new saint pedals last week

Thanks for the reminder, I need to buy a mudguard, don't worry just the front 😉

My financial advisor is happy I can’t buy an Atherton in the US. Pretty sure I would have ordered one if I could. However, I respect that Atherton wants after-sale support in place before coming to the US market.

Must resist ext storia….
The vivid will be great, well good, perhaps fine…
You should at least give it a go….

Where’s that already bruised credit card… another thousand won’t make that much difference

would go the vivid over the ext. Custom tune the vivid. Ext do have reliability issues and should anything go wrong, not many shops anywhere in the world stop parts. Rockshox however, loads do. The vivid really is a very good shock once tuned to the individual.

I’ve had a storia on my transition for years, it’s the best shock I’ve ridden, albeit I’ve not ridden loads…
Mojo here supply and service them and set them up for you if you have a chat with them.
So, whilst maybe a consideration for people I’m not too worried about it

I’ve had EXT shocks on multiple bikes, the only one I had a problem with was the Aria. I sent it back to Mojo on a Monday and had it back that Saturday so I can’t complain.
