You guys see the new specialized demo and their anti-kickback setup? Pretty interesting.

It’s pretty cool tech. Takes your point of contact more out of touch with the direct driveline where that kickback is going to happen. I’d bet it works better than some of the other devices out there right nowTheir explanation in the video makes zero sense on how it helps kickback.

Damn, you got a lot more than me from "it's like a backwards wagon."What this is a direct drive high-pivot design. Notice that the pedals and chainring are on different axles? There looks to be an internal chain connecting the two so there's no HP idler here - the elevated chainring is driving power to rear directly. Implications:
- Kickback is reduced the same way HP designs reduce feedback.
- Even better, the chain ring is far forward of the pedal shaft, which means the axle has a wider more concentric wheel path so less chain growth.
- Under idler helps reduce chain growth because they are still using a freaking derailleur here.
- None of this can be a componentized add-on like ochain. This is an inherent transmission design change.
- None of this design translates to EMTB. The transmission mechanism is right the the motor should be.
- If Shimano actually did a solid with their own patent and released their MGU design with staggered pedal input and out drive shafts, then we are talking.
For Avinox EMTBs. Bosch gets a waved on through like the last time. One would have expected after a year since the Ochain was aquired that SRAM could have easily made an Avinox version. At this point it appears to be a deliberate/strategic act.Welp, that ochain "update" was a bummer for emtbs!
